Departure from Castaunouze, south-east of Mazamet. In the village, cross the bridge over the Arnette, head towards Hautpoul and follow the road uphill to the car park about 500 metres away.
(S/E) At the car park exit, follow the road downhill to the left.
(1) After about 200 metres, take the first path, Chemin des Passes, which climbs into the woods on the right and follow it to the end.
(2) Go through the small gate on the left and descend to the place called Moulin Maurel.
(3) Take the D54 road to the left and continue to the Rives wool processing factory.
(4) At the end of the factory, take the road on the right which winds its way up to a place called Brettes.
(5) At Brettes, turn left onto the road until you reach a large esplanade with a view of Mazamet.
(6) Turn onto the path on the left that climbs uphill and follow it to the Croix de Prat (be careful, recent tree felling has destroyed the paths and signposts).
(7) At the cross, continue straight ahead down into the woods and follow the signs for "accès passerelle" until you reach La Jamarié.
(8) Continue to follow the signs for the footbridge, cross it and continue to the village of Hautpoul.
(9) Climb up the narrow streets of Hautpoul to the Rocher de la Vierge.
(10) At the car park, take the road on the left and after 50 metres take the small path on the left which climbs steeply into the woods and then descends to the church of Saint-Pierre des Plots.
(11) At the church, turn left onto the path, then turn right at the first crossroads. Continue straight ahead and turn left towards the standing stone.
(12) Take the path on the right at the edge of the woods along the fence and follow it down the winding road until you reach the road and the car park on the right (S/E).
