Campagnac - Itzac: among beautiful stones, vineyards and hillsides
This is an easy hike, ideal for a half-day, which allows you to discover the beautifully restored houses of two small villages and takes you through hills and valleys, ending with a walk through part of the Gaillac vineyards.
Around Saint-Beauzile
Let's set off to explore a multifaceted environment from the small village of Saint-Beauzile. After passing through dense, wild undergrowth, where we take forgotten paths, the route becomes more open, allowing us to discover gently rolling countryside where vineyards and cereal crops coexist harmoniously. There is a little tarmac, but on very quiet roads.
Trails and woods north-west of Itzac
A pleasant circular route for exploring the Gaillac vineyards, crossing the valleys and hillsides of the Tarn with ease. This hike is not recommended in hot weather as there is little shade.
Alos circular loop
About fifteen kilometres from Gaillac, this is an easy hike in a peaceful setting of rolling hills, woods and vineyards. A few beautiful residences and several dovecotes dot the route, adding to its charm.
Circular route starting from La Ginibrière
A walk offering a variety of landscapes, with a beautiful view over the Gaillac plain. Then a walk through a very pretty hamlet and, to finish, a trail through the forest offering a change of scenery.Note: the ride involves a significant elevation gain; we start by descending and then climb back up.
Around Loubers, in the Cordais region
A hike that alternates between small villages, castles and churches, with the added bonus of a breathtaking view of Cordes-sur-Ciel.
Best done in spring or, even better, in October, when the vines change colour.
In summer, the shaded areas in the undergrowth are very welcome.
Vineyards, small villages and dovecotes around Château du Cayla
A hike between vineyards and hills which enables you to discover a gently undulating landscape where pretty small villages and lovely dovecotes, enhanced by their careful restoration, nestle. The Château-Musée du Cayla which is located on the walk could also provide amateur historians and literature buffs with a splendid cultural stopover, following in the footsteps of Maurice and Eugénie de Guérin, whose correspondence is still famous.
Dolmen and fountains in the Vaour region
This hike in the Vaour region, between Quercy and Albigeois, alternates between Celtic and Roman paths in a Causse landscape dotted with dolmens and numerous fountains.
Several pretty villages: Saint-Michel-de-Vax, Roussayrolles and Peyralade have remarkable buildings.
The hike offers beautiful panoramic views between the Grésigne forest and the Aveyron valley to the north.

Maraval Trail
This pleasant loop in the Cordais hills, between vineyards and woods, allows you to discover a unique geological feature (the rougiers) and beautiful views of the villages of Cordes and Tonnac. The hike was created by the Tarn department and marked by volunteers from the FFRandonnée.
La Grésigne from La Grande Baraque to Le Sauze
For adventurers who love the wilderness.
This route will take you across La Grésigne on either side of the D87.
You will tread many barely visible paths, avoiding forest tracks and roads as much as possible.
Bartas, sections with significant elevation changes and trails trodden by wild boars will delight hikers looking for a challenge and a good workout.

Beautiful trails leading to the highlights and symbolic sites of Cordes, such as the former leprosarium, the Chapelle Saint-Jean and the Croix des Fargues. Panoramic views and numerous vantage points over Cordes punctuate the route halfway through.
On the limestone plateau between Souel and Cordes-sur-Ciel
A circular route on the Causse plateau leading from the small village of Souel to Cordes-sur-Ciel, through a hilly landscape alternating between vineyards, cultivated fields, meadows and small woods. A pretty lake, a few beautifully restored houses and a small chapel nestled in a valley dot this rural route, not to mention the numerous viewpoints over the town of Cordes, classified as a Grand Site de Midi-Pyrénées.
The vineyards on the heights of Gaillac and the Bois de Gradille
This walk combines the paths of the Bois de Gradille and the hills above Gaillac: walks listed in ‘Walks and Hikes in the Tarn’. It offers a beautiful variety of landscapes over the course of the day, ranging from the agricultural north, the vineyards and valleys of north-western Gaillac with their Tuscan-like charm, to the Bois de Gradille, graced by its pretty chapel of the same name. The rolling hills between fields, woods and vineyards flow harmoniously as you make your way through the quiet hamlets.

The view of the bastide town of Castelnau-de-Montmiral can be seen right from the start. Downy oaks and Montpellier maples line the trail between vineyards and views of the Gaillac hillsides. The Gradille chapel is nestled in the woods of the same name.
Loop to the south of Cordes-sur-Ciel
This loop allows you to visit the Chapelle Saint-Jean, an endearing place with a strong link to the history of Cordes-sur-Ciel.
The tour ends in the tourist centre of the bastide town of Cordes for a well-deserved visit and break.
Through vineyards and valleys around Broze
Just a few minutes from the centre of Gaillac, this is a peaceful walk, ideal for a half-day outing. The circuit passes through unspoilt countryside where vineyards, meadows and small woods share the space. In this landscape of rolling hills and valleys, a few beautiful houses and wine estates dot the route. Not to mention the views of the Montagne Noire and the Pyrenees on a clear day to top it all off.
The contrasting landscapes of the Pays Cordais
The route skirts Cordes-sur-Ciel from south to north, offering a variety of views of the city of a hundred spires. The route is rich in contrasting natural environments: the Chapelle Saint-Jean and its wild green setting, the Clayrac millstone cave, the old-fashioned charm of the village of Vindrac, the landscapes of the Causse, and the tranquil banks of the Cérou.

Cordes... a magnificent Albigensian fortified town, to be discovered from the rolling trails of the Causse.

Valleys, hills and groves of Mouzieys-Panens
Variation on the "From Bournazel to Mouzieys-Panens" route
This circular route goes from roads to trails, with ups and downs, through the Cordes countryside with numerous viewpoints on the north side of Cordes-sur-Ciel. It includes different sections of trails and, although the route follows parts of otherPR® orGR®36trails, a GPS is recommended as the route includes unmarked sections.
Penne - Les Suquets - Gorges de l'Aveyron
From the banks of the Aveyron, this hike offers a breath of fresh air to those who enjoy walking in the woods and provides some lovely views along the way. At the start, the Rocher de Suquets offers a beautiful viewpoint over the fortified site of Penne and, on the way back, the descent to the hamlet of Amiel provides lovely views of the cliffs of the Gorges de l'Aveyron.

From the rock village of Penne, the circuit takes hikers to the Suquets viewpoint.
Countryside and forests share the multifaceted landscape of limestone cliffs.
Steep climbs and descents will delight the more athletic walkers.
The end of the route is a peaceful walk along the Aveyron river before a final short climb at the foot of the village.
Penne Bruniquel loop
A beautiful rollercoaster route in the heart of nature. From woodland to plateaus, you will walk along paths on either side of the Aveyron between two remarkable medieval villages.
The outward journey takes you along unmarked but easily recognisable paths that are rarely used.
The return journey is entirely on theGR®46trail, marked in red and white, and is easy to follow.
Walk around Mauriac
Starting from the small village of Mauriac, this short hike, accessible to all, takes you through valleys carpeted with vineyards and small hills offering views of the Gaillac plain and, on a clear day, the Montagne Noire and even the Pyrenees. A few beautifully restored dovecotes and some noble residences adorn the route.
Bonnan Valley Trail
Landscapes of cliffs and valleys in the Bonnan valley and the Grézelles forest. This route only uses paths and tracks in the middle of unspoilt nature.
This is the classic version of the Vallée de Bonnan trail, as described in the Tarn à pied guidebook and on the FFRP information sheets.
