Park in the small car park next to the church in Mauriac.
YellowPR® signposts
(S/E) Facing the road, leave the car park on the right and walk along the church and the adjoining cemetery. Leave the small road on your left and, about 20 metres further on, take a sharp right turn. Continue straight ahead, ignoring a first road on the left that passes under the nearby railway line and then a second one on the right just after (metal cross a few metres from the crossroads).
(1) At the next junction (road signs: La Sirventié and voie sans issue), turn right onto the small tarmac road which climbs steeply straight away.
No signposts
Ignore the first access road on the right to La Sirventié, a beautiful building flanked by two magnificent dovecotes, and also leave thePR® trail on the left to continue straight ahead for about 250 metres. When the road turns left towards Bayssièyres, leave it and take a wide grassy path that starts straight ahead between the vineyards and joins a T-junction at the top of the hill.
(2) Turn right and continue on flat ground until you reach the first fork (elevation 251). Turn left downhill, leave a path on your right and join the D922.
(3) Cross the road (be careful) and continue opposite on a grassy path that runs alongside a vineyard. Leave a path on your left (no hunting sign) and turn right at the next junction. Once you reach the tarmac road, continue on the left until the first bend.
(4) Leave the road and take the wide path that starts opposite. Continue straight ahead until you reach a small paved road from where you can see the building that houses the Musée Conservatoire de l'Invincible Vigneron and its remarkable dovecote in the hamlet of Trés Cantous. Turn right to quickly reach the D922.
(5) Cross (with caution), take the road opposite, slightly to the left, then turn right about 50 metres further on. Continue straight ahead and pass the Val Saint-André wine estate (Durantou).
(6) About ten metres before the road turns right, leave it and take a sunken path on the left which avoids the bend and joins aPR® (IGN map incorrect here: the path starts lower down, after the buildings and not before).

Turn right to rejoin the road you left earlier, which has now become a wide, stable track. Follow this track to the left, pass two streams that are often dry in the hot season and continue to a wooden signpost. On the left, the Château de Salettes dominates the landscape.
(7) Turn left, following the sign for "Circuit des 4 châteaux" (4 castles circuit), and begin a steady climb to Mauriac. Once on the paved road, go straight ahead, pass the castle and return to the car park where you started (S/E).
