A hiking trail, winding through open countryside, woodland and along the riverbank, which connects the hamlets of the commune or links up with other walks and villages in the area.   The ‘Lo camin dels tres vilatges del Beç’ is a long and beautiful route, alternating between countryside and woodland, guiding you through varied landscapes along cool sunken paths, shaded tracks or hidden descents, close to the stunning rocks of the Sidobre, in a landscape with pronounced relief but without great difficulty. You’ll enjoy beautiful views, peaceful valleys, the proximity of the waters of the Agout, and, throughout, exceptional tranquillity.

Hiking trail in the commune of Brassac-sur-Agout in Sidobre & Vallées in the Tarn – Occitanie. Passing through Brassac, a medieval town, and its old quarters, this relatively easy route follows the banks of the Agout, quickly taking you into the heart of the countryside.

A lovely circular route taking you round the hamlets near the Parenthèse lodges in the forest. Please follow the directions in the description carefully as we are unable to mark the route. You will come across a water source (stream) halfway along the route.

A lovely day-long horse ride through the Sidobre rock formations, starting from the Écuries de la Sabatarié. A stop in the morning at Lac du Merle to water the horses. A few safety precautions to bear in mind:- Be vigilant when crossing roads (including the busy D622).- The rocks are not slippery for horses in principle (granite), but always remain vigilant when crossing them.

This walk is situated between Mazamet and Lacaune in the Haut Languedoc Regional Nature Park and takes place mostly in woodland along tracks or dirt paths.

Hiking trail in the municipality of Fontrieu-en-Sidobre & Vallées in the Tarn - Occitanie A beautiful route, showcasing a landscape shaped by the combination of farming and forestry, offering walkers a stunning mosaic of scenery. A green valley runs through the vast commune of Fontrieu, amongst beautiful farmland dotted with hedgerows and dry stone walls. It was here that the Ouillats convent was established in 1825, benefiting from fertile land and abundant water. Above Biot and towards the south, the mountain rises 300 metres and marks the start of a vast wooded area on the granite ridge of Puech Margot. In this landscape, amidst recent clearings and old high forests, the cry of the harrier and the hammering of the woodpecker often echo the rustling of the wind through the branches.

A beautiful forest walk around Ferrières. Chestnut trees, beech, oak, spruce, holly, boxwood, elm… all these tree species are there for us to enjoy. This walk is recommended for around mid-November, when the beech trees have taken on their autumn colours.

Hiking trail in the commune of Fontrieu, in Sidobre & Vallées in the Tarn – Occitanie. Hiking trail at the gateway to the Pays Montanhol, where the stones tell the story of the Sidobre. Places to visit: the Museum of Protestantism and Ferrières Castle. Start opposite the town hall annexe, at La Ramade. A walk through woodland, fields and meadows, with numerous viewpoints. Magnificent panoramic views of the Monts de Lacaune, the Sidobre, the Montagne Noire and the Pyrenees. The route passes through the village of Ferrières, where you can see the château and the watermills, and follow the route of the little train that operated until 1962, which had opened up this entire hilly region.

This hike is a little longer than the one suggested by the Tarn Tourist Office, which starts from Saint-Salvy. This alternative starting point allows you to see the Chaos de la Balme and the Chapeau de Napoléon, famous landmarks in the Sidobre. On a clear day, this hike offers beautiful views of the Montagne Noire, the Pyrenees in the background and beautiful fields dotted with rocks.

This circuit combines the pleasures of walking with those of a picnic by the water. The Sidobre rocks are a curiosity worth discovering. Lac du Merle is a haven of peace and enchantment where you can relax in the summer heat. It is a beautiful spot with rocks rising out of the water, giving you the feeling of walking on air.

A haven of freshness a few kilometres from Castres. A walk that will reveal its undergrowth and its stream with a stepped waterfall. Not marked, many paths, follow the description carefully. The Visorando app will be a great help.

A beautiful hike through forests and clearings. You will discover beautiful views of the Montagne Noire and, beyond, the peaks of the Pyrenees. Water is also present, with two mills located along the route. A bucolic atmosphere that is very enjoyable in spring.

This region, between Mazamet and Castres, is extraordinary for its accumulation of granite boulders, left in all directions by nature. The walk is always sheltered from the sun and wind, and there is no tarmac. I am making an exception to my rule of ignoring the markings left on rocks and trees. This walk is well signposted, but only pay attention to the FFR markings. White and red lines for theGR® and yellow lines elsewhere.

Starting from the small village of Cambous, this hike to discover the "Pays du Margnès" alternates between forest passages and open spaces offering beautiful views. After a stop at the Canroute bog and its discovery trail, the climb to Puech Cornet and its orientation table brings the route to a beautiful close with a magnificent 360° panorama.

The loop represents a journey through history on the heights of Pont-de-l'Arn. On the plateau, a path, water and memories... This circuit passes through the open hills overlooking Pont-de-Larn. The Pas des Bêtes lake reveals itself in a wooded, fairy-tale setting. The journey ends with two menhir statues standing at the side of the path, witnesses to a civilisation from the late Neolithic period.

This hike, mostly along ridges, offers beautiful views of three valleys: the Ruisseau du Robert at the start, then the Gijou and finally the beautiful Vallée du Berlou at the end of the route. We are in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Park and the mountains rise up to the delight of the eyes. There are roads, of course, but most of them are quiet and offer a bucolic atmosphere, especially in early spring.

Starting from the village of Espérausses, it will take you through woods and small valleys to Puech Carbonniés, which boasts a beautiful coniferous forest and remarkable views. As an added bonus, you can discover "jasses" or dry stone shepherds' huts, reminders of a bygone pastoral era.
