Park in the car park (free) at the bottom of Cordes.
(S/E) Go up the stairs to the main street.
(1) Cross the street (be careful) and go up the unpaved street on the left to reach Rue de la Bouteillerie. Turn right and continue straight ahead, ignoring two streets on the right.
(2) At the next crossroads, leave the street on your right and continue left onto Chemin du Pigeonnier. The path joins a small road which you take to the left and follow, ignoring the road on the right. Leave the next road on the left and make a wide right turn, then look for a path on the left marked "sentier bleu" (blue path)
(3) Turn left onto this shaded path, passing through La Dévèze. At the road, turn right, then 100 m further on, turn left and continue to the next road.
(4) Turn left onto theGR®36-GR®46link, then take the next trail on the left and continue for about 900 m until the next intersection. Cross the road (at a place called La Plaine on the left) and continue straight ahead.
(5) Ignore a path on the right and continue on theGR®36-GR®46link until you reach the D25.
Cross the road and take the path opposite (yellow signpost). At the cross, continue left and pass in front of La Favarié. Cross the D25 again and take the path opposite.
(6) At the next fork (not shown on the IGN map), take the path on the left (small sign: sentier Bleu) and follow it. Cross a small road and continue straight ahead until you reach another road. Continue straight ahead on the road until you reach the crossroads.
(7) Take a sharp right turn onto another path that passes by a chapel (private property). Take a short detour by the chapel and rejoin the path that leads to the Causse trail.
N.B.: After the chapel, the trail runs alongside fields. Stay close to the edge and respect the crops.
(8) Turn left and follow the path and then the track until you reach Cordes, ignoring the other paths. Turn left onto the main street.
At the crossroads, turn right to return to the car park (S/E).
Beautiful route but with often non-existent signposting. In such cases, more landmarks should be provided for non-professional hikers. Comparing the description with reality, we realised that the paths have become small tarmac roads (for example, the road that passes in front of St Jean's chapel, which is on private land) and that the paths have been given road names. All of this needs to be updated. Between points 6 and 8, the explanations are insufficient to follow your route: we couldn't find the blue trail, and there were several forks in the path with no signs. We managed to complete the route anyway. Thank you
