Route of the two churches in Cossé-en-Champagne – Bannes
Starting from the pretty village of Cossé-en-Champagne, set off on this circular walk to explore the
Mayenne countryside. Along the way, you’ll encounter two superb Romanesque churches, a charming chapel,
paths lined with broom and dense shrubbery.
You can combine this route with route no. 3.
Route from Bellevue to Daon
Starting from the village of Daon, the Bellevue route takes you along the towpath to explore the right bank of the Mayenne.
Route des Châteaux in Daon
This walk will allow you to discover the Château des Lutz and the Château de Mortreux.
The Rochers Route in La Bazouge-de-Chemeré
Ideal for a family walk with children, this short circular walk will introduce you to the
of the local flora and fauna, particularly as you walk along the banks of the Vaige.
You can combine this route with route no. 5.
Chémerette to La Bazouge-de-Chémeré walking route
This circular walk will take you through the Mayenne countryside. You’ll need to cross the Ruisseau de Chémerette,
which gives the route its name, will be necessary to fully enjoy the walk. Don’t panic, it
’s rarely got any water in it!
The Menhir de la Hune route in Bazougers
The Bazougers circular loop, which will allow you to explore the Mayenne countryside.
Mayenne towpath and counter-towpath route starting from Ménil
A lovely walk along the River Mayenne, ideal for enjoying the coolness of the river on sunny days! Please note that this is one of the only sections of the river where you can walk along both banks. You can also enjoy beautiful views of the Château de la Haute Roche and the Château de la Porte.
The Grande Courbe route in Origné
The second Origné route in South Mayenne, which will take you along the Mayenne towpath.
Route de La Croix de Pierre – Préaux / Ballée Route Ballée and Préaux
This route will allow you to discover the Mayenne countryside and its landscapes. Don’t miss the Croix des Chouans, a 3-metre-high monument erected in the 19th century and featuring a medieval cross. Finally, once the walk is over, don’t forget to take a look at the River Erve and the pretty houses lining its banks.
Route du Bourgneuf in Saint-Quentin-les-Anges
This circular route will allow you to explore the countryside of Haut-Anjou on the border between Mayenne and Maine-et-Loire. You will pass close to the Oudon, a pretty little river, near the Moulin de Sevillé.
Route de La Valette in Villiers-Charlemagne
The route to the north-west of Villiers-Charlemagne is characterised by water, with sections running alongside the village’s ponds
in the village as well as the River Mayenne. You’ll also catch sight of some beautiful castles.
Route from Oliveau to Saint-Sulpice
This beautiful walk will take you through the pretty, flower-filled village of Saint-Sulpice and its countryside. In season, you can visit the gardens of the Château de la Rongère in the village. You can also enjoy the peace and quiet of the banks of the Mayenne river by taking the towpath.
Route de Bordeaux in Grez-en-Bouère and Bouère
This hike will allow you to discover the countryside between Grez-en-Bouère and Bouère. You will pass
close to the Taude river and will also be able to see a few châteaux. In Bouère, don't miss
the lovely views of the quarries.
Route ‘Les Rives du Buru’ in La Cropte
A pleasant little walk through the countryside around La Cropte in southern Mayenne. It is possible to combine this route with the one covering Saint-Denis-du-Maine and Meslay-du-Maine (connection at the crossroads between waypoints (1) and (3)).
The ‘Route des Trotteurs’ in Ruillé-Froid-Fonds
Recommended for those who aren’t put off by a long walk, the Ruillé-Froid-Fonds route will take you through the countryside of southern Mayenne, a region much loved by horse breeders. The proximity of two stud farms and the cool, refreshing atmosphere of the Bois du Puy will round off your exploration.
Route du Tambour in Saint-Brice
This lovely walk will take you through the countryside of southern Mayenne and the small villages of
Saint-Brice and Les Agêts, with their rich industrial heritage (brickworks and lime kilns). You can extend
your walk to the Bellebranche forest or head to Bouère and its many attractions.
Route from Saint-Martin-Villenglose to Saint-Denis-d'Anjou
A short, very easy walk in the countryside around Saint-Denis-d'Anjou, starting from the pretty little church of Saint-Martin-Villenglose.

The brand-new Mazerits route in Saint-Denis-d’Anjou will take you on a tour of the countryside around this charming village, which has been awarded the ‘Petite Cité de Caractère’ label.
The La Rincerie route
A short, easy walk suitable for families around the La Rincerie lake. A pair of binoculars might be useful for exploring the birdwatching area (western part of the lake).

Route de Ballée in Chémeré-le-Roi

Château-Gontier Viaduct route on the Mayenne
This circular route will take you to discover the Château-Gontier Viaduct, which opened on 5 October 2022. This monumental structure is 296 m long and 28 m high. After taking in some wonderful views of the river, set off to explore the must-see sights of Château-Gontier.
