A lovely walk to a magnificent high-altitude mountain pasture with spectacular views of the Tournette rocks and Lake Annecy. The first part (Angon Waterfall, Pont des Fées, Rovagny) is suitable for families (direct return possible). Then, a steady, shaded path leads to the vast cirque of the Aulp chalets and its unique view of Lake Annecy and the Tournette rocks.

Around Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche station - Marly Forest, a walk in a beautiful deciduous forest. It suffered greatly from the great storm of 1999, which flattened the oak trees on the motorway like straw, but this hike has a high density of remarkable trees (oaks, hornbeams, beeches). As the Marly forest is crossed by several busy roads, this hike focuses on the quietest part. It also offers a few viewpoints.

The return journey, parallel to the outward route, is mainly on flat ground. Most of the walk is well shaded and flat, but there are also some fairly steep ascents and descents. The area is very popular with walkers and mountain bikers, but it is well worth a visit.

Despite a few urban sections, most of the route is in the heart of the forest, shaded by deciduous trees. The forest is beautiful, and there are some lovely views, but the appeal is more athletic than touristy. The route includes many quick changes of direction, making it difficult to follow without GPS. The entire route is less than 10 km from the western part of Paris.

An easy walk allowing you to enjoy the contrasting landscapes of the Cantal region without heading up to high altitudes. Superb views, old farmhouses, magnificent trees, a visit to the medieval village of Laroquebrou and the Saint-Étienne-Cantalès dam; opportunity to swim. The suggested route generally follows the green ‘La Roquaise’ signposts, apart from a few minor variations.

An interesting ride that’s well worth discovering, very different from the usual Cantal landscape. The terrain is flat, but that doesn’t stop there being a few lovely climbs and descents. On foot, the journey might seem a bit long, but on a mountain bike you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the variety of vegetation and scenery. Most of the ride is in the shade of the trees.

Over a short distance, you can enjoy a wide variety of landscapes: deciduous and coniferous woodland, peat bogs, rocky outcrops, heathland and views out across the plain. Boardwalks allow you to venture deep into the peat bog. Information boards explain the history and biology of the peat bogs and forests, etc. Beautiful trees: the scents of broom, the forest and the heathland… A lovely walk for everyone.
