Ampuis walks

A short hike to discover the vineyards of Ampuis, with superb views of the terraced vineyards and the Rhône valley.

A hike with a very varied route. Discover the Lônes with nature observatories in the protected area of Île du Beurre. The banks of the Rhône (with the Port des Roches de Condrieu opposite) and a very pleasant arrival in Condrieu (restored residences). Visit the old town of Condrieu, climb up to the village of Semons and enjoy the view over the market garden plain of Ampuis. Descent into the vineyards of the Côtes Rôties to discover the intertwining terraces and low walls.

A fairly short hike that follows many shaded and fairly steep paths. A walk that allows you to appreciate the contrast between the cool, enclosed areas leading to the Gerbole stream and the wide, open views of the Pilat massif and the vineyards of the northern Côtes du Rhône. A change of scenery, a little physically demanding, just a few kilometres from Vienne...

This is a hike through the woods in the Pilat massif, best done in dry weather and avoided in strong winds as most of the route is in the woods with few paved roads.

A short walk through the hamlet of Saint-Mamert and the forest takes you to the charming Jardin du Bois Marquis. This magnificent garden, beautiful in all seasons, is open to the public free of charge seven days a week. Here you can admire collections of plants and trees, as well as a pond where all kinds of brightly coloured ducks frolic. It is classified as a "remarkable garden" and has won awards.

A hike that almost exclusively uses small roads without traffic, providing a route where the paths are not an option. We start in Vienne and experience its panoramic views of Notre-Dame de Pipet and the Vienne hills with beautiful views of the Rhône Valley and the Pilat massif at the bottom. The return journey takes you through the homes on the Vienne heights while maintaining good views of the Viennoise hills.

A very rural hike through woods and hills, with beautiful views of the Alps and Pilat Park. :1: Please note: hike currently being modified. The passage on the (private) path from (1) seems to be causing problems. In the meantime: at the fork, 400 m before this waypoint (1), turn right (Chemin des Frères) then left onto the D167 and further on you will find the waypoint (2).

Stroll through the narrow streets of Seyssuel, then on the way back, pass by the old castle and continue through the vineyards. Half of this route is paved, but you will have some beautiful views of the Monts du Lyonnais, which makes this part seem shorter.

Walk in the hills above Longes with magnificent panoramic views of the Alps, the Pilat massif and the Monts du Lyonnais. Car park with a beautiful table and two magnificent wooden deckchairs from which to admire the Rhône valley and the Alps.

Shaded walk along the banks of streams in a Rhône ravine. A surprisingly peaceful natural area given its proximity to urban centres.

Walk in the forest with three charming streams and beautiful views of the valley. A complete change of scenery for the day.

This circular route connects the Gère valley to the Malissol neighbourhood. It follows a path along the banks of the Gère, part of which is in the Malissol forest, near the fitness trail, and some more rocky sections in the heart of the Malissol neighbourhood. A family walk with a slight incline, best done with flat, closed-toe shoes (forest trails).

A very pleasant walk in the Pilat Massif. Some beautiful panoramic views of the Rhône valley, Crêt de l'Oeillon and Trois Dents.

Magnificent panoramic view of the Alps on a clear day. Partially shaded return route through the woods. Somewhat strenuous climb but no technical difficulty.

The hike combines the Odouard and Jean-Jacques Rousseau trails, starting from Chuyer. The first part, to the south-east, on the Odouard trail, offers beautiful views of the Rhône valley. At the Col de Grenouze, the small loop takes you up to Mont Monnet: orientation table, beautiful view in good weather over the valley, the Vercors and the Alps (Mont Blanc). Forest paths then follow the Jean-Jacques Rousseau trail to the Col de Pavezin, and return via the Odouard trail.

Walk through the orchards of Chavanay. Best done in April when the fruit trees are in bloom. As a bonus, you'll see the charming village of Malleval and the Epervier valley. Please note: read carefully at marker No. 8

A walk between Givors and Echalas, mostly through woods and along wild valleys. Although close to the town, this walk remains very natural before reaching the plateau.

An easy route to discover some of the attractions of the commune of Bessey in the Pilat Regional Nature Park.

This is an unpretentious walk. It alternates between different landscapes (countryside, forest) and surfaces (gravel paths, small asphalt roads). If the weather is clear, you will have many views of the surrounding peaks. There are two small hills (not too steep) to keep you in shape.
