Longer route via Château d'Illins from Villette-de-Vienne

(S/E) Head up Rue de la Forge to the right and turn right at the first junction onto Chemin du Molaret.

(1) Just after the Ruisseau Béal de Servanay, take the path on the left and follow the stream. Continue to the second fork on the left.

(2) Take a steep, narrow path to the left, leaving the stream, and continue uphill until you rejoin the stream further up and follow it.

(3) Turn left, cross the stream and reach the Col de Bel Air road without taking it.

(4) At the pass, at elevation 324, continue along the road, ignoring the road to the left, then take the first path on the right until you reach a fork towards the Bois de Fauries.

(5) Turn left onto it and follow the sheep track north-east then north. Pass under a power line and arrive at a fork at an elevation of 306 metres just before the water tower.

(7) Turn right, heading south, passing under the power lines again. Follow another track on the left for 300 metres and turn right for 150 metres until you reach a fork at elevation 319.

(8) Turn left and head back down to the Ruisseau Béal de Servanay.

(9) Take a sharp left-hand bend, follow the stream up the left bank, cross it and continue to the first path on the right.

(10) Follow this track south-west until you reach a road before the Ferme de Château.

(11) Follow it to the right, pass the farm and continue to the Château d'Illins.

(11) Head back down to the right, go round the hamlet of Le Molaret on the left and rejoin the Béal de Servanay stream.

(1) Follow the route back along the same path as on the way there until you reach the Maison des associations car park (S/E).
