Park in the Côtes d'Arey stadium car park.
(S/E) Head towards the Suzon bridge but do not cross it. Just before it, take the path on the left towards the water treatment plant. Then wade across the stream and climb towards the hamlet of Saint-Mamert until you reach a tarmac road.
(1) Follow it to the left and climb. Cross Saint-Mamert, continuing to climb. At the exit, the slope becomes gentler. Reach the edge of a forest.
(2) Take the dirt track on the right, pass the antennas and arrive on the plateau where the view opens up. Join a gravel road and follow it to the right for about 100 metres.
(3) Turn left before the gravel road starts to descend. Continue through the forest. Ignore the first path on the right and continue to a crossroads about 100 metres further on.
(4) Take the path on the right, which descends steadily to the first houses in Vernioz. Follow the tarmac road on the left for about 20 metres. Continue opposite Route du Bois Marquis Haut, then turn right onto Rue des Contancines until you reach the southern entrance to the Jardin du Bois Marquis.
(5) Turn right and enter the garden. Walk along the southern bank of the pond, then exit the garden via its northern entrance.
(6) Follow the road to the right and continue north. Continue along a dirt track until you reach a four-way crossroads.
(7) Turn left onto Rue de Petit Cour, go to the last house, then take the road on the right, heading north, and keep left at the three-way junction.
(8) Turn left for a short detour to the Chapelle Saint-Mamert. This 11th-century chapel is a listed historical monument. Then return to the route via the same road and head back to the car park (S/E).
