Departure from Chuyer, where there are parking spaces near the church and town hall.
(S/E) Admire the "gendarme's hat" pediment of the old town hall. The Odouard trail is marked here as "sentier du parc" (no. 3) in brown and black. Take it north towards Bonnebouche, the Vieille Chapelle and the Col de Grenouze.
At the fork after leaving the village, turn right. Then, at the next trail intersections, keep right and then left, always following the park trail, no. 3, towards the Col de Grenouze. You will come to a small road which you follow straight ahead uphill to Bonnebouche.
(1) At Bonnebouche, take the road on the right. At the next crossroads, a path opposite allows you to cut across the bend in the road (D78), which you then join and which leads to the Vieille Chapelle.
(2) Take a short detour to pass in front of the chapel, which has its own charm. Unfortunately, the door is barred. Return to the road, then, at the first bend, take the path that climbs to the left. This will take you gradually uphill on a comfortable path to the Col de Grenouze.
(3) At the pass, turn right towards Longes, then take the small road immediately on the right (Mont Monnet) and the next path on the left. You will rejoin the road and turn left onto the path that climbs up to Mont Monnet
(4) You are now at the highest point of the circuit. An orientation table describes the landscape which, on a clear day, stretches from Mont Blanc in the north to the Vercors in the east. At your feet are the Rhône Valley and the Pilat Massif. You can see the Roches de Condrieu and the Saint-Alban power station on the banks of the Rhône. A little further on, you will pass a chapel and a statue of the Virgin Mary.
At the next intersection, continue straight ahead (crossing a path). Now follow the signs for Rémilleux. The path turns into a small road that leads us there.
(5) In Remillieux, at the crossroads, turn left and, in the bend, take the path straight ahead. Continue downhill until you reach the D625, which you take to the left until you reach the Col de Grenouze
(3) We are now back at the Col de Grenouze. Note that if you did not picnic at Mont Monnet, you can do so here, provided the tables near the road are not taken. Here, you will join the Jean-Jacques Rousseau trail, which you take opposite in the direction of the Col de Pavezin. Enjoy the path through the woods, with large clearings offering views of Pilat. The trail is well marked in yellow and white. Quickly pass a path on the right and one on the left and stay on the main path until you reach the pass.
(6) At the Col de Pavezin, you can also picnic on the tables provided. To continue, take the path at the end of the car park on the edge of the D7: it runs alongside the road but passes well above it. At the first fork, turn right.
(7) Take a wide sandy path on the left and reach the first start on the left about 600 m further on.
(8) Take the path that descends to the left until you reach the Odouard trail, then turn left towards "Les Chirattes"
(9) At Les Chirattes, the direction for Chuyer is clearly signposted on the path to the left (Odouard trail). You will see the brown and white markings for the park trail, which you will follow to Chuyer. At the hairpin bend, go straight ahead, then turn left.
(10) Near Montant, turn right. After the small wood, you will arrive at the Croix de Pilherbe.
(11) At the crossroads, a grassy path branches off to the left towards Chuyer, where you can see the church near where you parked. At Les Ferranches, join a small tarmac road and follow it straight ahead to the D30 and then the car park in Chuyer (S/E).
