Park in one of the car parks at Saint-Clair-les-Roches station.
(S/E) Turn left down Rue de la Gare, then turn right onto Rue de la Castillerie. Continue to the crossroads at the cemetery.
(1) Walk along it, then take Rue Gambetta opposite. At the end of this street, take Chemin du But opposite. Cross the arm of the Rhône and enjoy the view of the marina.
Go down the winding path to the road. Cross it and continue straight on towards the WAM Park leisure centre. Go to the car park of this centre.
Please note: as there is a charge to access the centre in summer, go around it on the left. Out of season, cross it to reach the car park.
(2) Cross the road with extreme caution as motorists drive very fast on this road. Then take the road that climbs up to the left.
After the bridge under the railway line, turn right onto the tarmac road, which continues uphill. Continue along a dirt track to reach a magnificent viewpoint at the edge of the woods, where there are picnic tables available.
Continue on to reach the Saint-Prim plateau at the crossroads.
(3) Take Chemin du Châtaignier opposite and descend to reach the crossroads at the fountain in the village of Chanet.
(4) Turn right into the street, then immediately left to continue downhill. You will arrive at the crossroads by the church in Saint-Prim.
(5) Turn left onto Chemin du Val qui Rit, leave it at the right-hand bend and take the small dirt track on the left. At thefirst intersection, turn right. You will soon come to another T-junction.
(6) Continue straight ahead, approaching the Ruisseau le Saluant stream. At the bridge, do not cross it but turn right to reach a road.
(7) Cross it and go up the gravel path. Go straight up until you reach the housing estates of Saint-Clair-du-Rhône. Go to a four-way crossroads and turn left to reach the Madone crossroads.
(8) Turn left here and walk back to the Madone site to enjoy the view.
Go back down and take the road on the left. Continue along Rue de Mordant. You will then arrive at the Chemin de Chanteperdrix crossroads.
(9) Turn left. This road leads downhill, still through residential areas. Turn right onto the next street and continue until you reach Raidillon de la Gare. Go downhill to the right and you will return to the intersection you passed on the way up.
(1) Follow the same route back to the car park at Saint-Clair-les-Roches station (S/E).
