Departure from Haute-Freydière in Givors, at the end of the road (park along the road).
(S/E) Cross the bridge and take the path. Cross the stream and take the path on the right that goes up the Cotéon stream, which you will follow for 3 km.
(1) Pass a confluence, turning left towards "Montmain" (yellow markings). Pass under the power lines and join the D158 east of Montmain.
(2) Take the road on the left, then the first path on the right which joins the D59. Follow this road to the right for 1 km.
(3) After a crossroads (towards Chatanay), leave the D59 and take the path on the right that enters the forest, then turn right again onto the path that you follow westwards to the first crossroads.
(4) At elevation 468, turn left and take the path heading south, which joins the D59. Follow this road to the right for several hundred metres.
(5) At the first crossroads (picnic tables), turn left between the two roads onto the path that climbs and turns into a trail to the top of the hill. Ignore several paths branching off to the left and right.
(6) At the crossroads, take the path furthest to the right and follow the ridge south-west for 1 km to reach a fork (marker 560).
(7) Take the first path on the right that descends. Continue straight ahead at the next crossroads and join the D59. Take the road on the right for a few metres then turn left onto a small road. At the fork, turn right then left.
(8) At Tuillières d'en haut, descend to the right along the path that leads to Thuillières d'en bas. Cross a valley via a bridge in the forest and climb up the opposite side. Ignore several paths branching off to the left and right and join a small road.
(9) Turn right onto this road, which leads to the D103E. Turn right, then immediately left to cross the Grandes Moussières and continue along a path through the forest. Pass a path on the right and arrive at the Crêt des Moussières crossroads.
(10) Take the path on the left that descends to Poirieux, where you turn right for 200 metres.
(11) Continue on the right along the path that leads to Petit Chatanay.
(12) At the entrance to the hamlet, turn left, north, onto a path, pass under two power lines, then make a 90° turn to the right to reach La Rodière.
(13) Continue left, heading north, go around Le Falconnet on the left and, at the exit, turn right.
(14) Take the path east for 200 metres, then turn right to enter the forest, following a stream. Return to the initial fork.
(1) Continue downhill to reach Haute Freydière in Givors and your car (S/E).
