The Saar Loop (Germany)

A hike that will take you to one of the most beautiful places in the Saarland: the Saar Loop.
The Altschossfelsen or "old castle rocks" of Eppenbrunn

Colorado du Bitcherland for some. This is a pink sandstone formation 1.5 km long, 35 m high and with four "towers" towering over visitors. No remains of the castle exist, but the unusual shapes, rocky overhangs and colours that change with the light of day enhance this rock formation. Trail marked with the German "Premiumweg" label.
Mühlenweg (Mill Trail) in Ottenhöffen im Schwarzwald

On this circuit around the village of Ottenhöffen, you will see five mills, a water-powered forge and... numerous self-service schnapps fountains (Schnappsbrunnen). You are asked to pay for what you consume by putting your money in the box provided. Various non-alcoholic drinks are also available.The route passes through low mountain meadows and forests.
Boucle de Seibelseckle par Hinterer Langenbach et Wildsee

Un circuit facile dans la forêt. Passage le long d'un torrent. Le clou est le lac d'origine glaciaire Wildsee, l'un des plus beau et plus sauvage de la Forêt Noire. Au retour, nous empruntons le sentier en balcon sur la plaine du Rhin et passons devant le monument commémoratif de la tempête "Lothar" de 1999.
Grand Canyon of the Black Forest

One of the most beautiful hiking trails in the entire region is the Wutach Gorge (Wutachschlucht), nicknamed the "Grand Canyon of the Black Forest".
These are wild gorges, followed by footbridges, steps and paths carved into the rock, with a stream that is sometimes calm, sometimes cascading, and lush vegetation.
PLEASE NOTE: the road is currently closed for the return journey to Schattenmühle. Continue along the Lotenbach gorge for about 1.5 km until you reach the B315 road, where you will find the bus stop.
The Feldberg

Ascent of the Feldberg with a 360° view of the Black Forest and the Alps.
Geroldsauerwasserfälle

This circuit is best done at the end of May during the rhododendron flowering season. You can also see a series of small waterfalls. The hike is not difficult. It can be very busy on Saturdays and Sundays (especially on the first third)
Nußhurtkapelle and Triberger Wasserfälle from Triberg (Germany)

This loop will take you from Triberg (Baden-Württemberg) which, as well as being a major cuckoo factory, is also famous for its waterfall, the highest in Germany. A hike for everyone.
The route is in two parts:
The long 9 km loop takes you through forests and mountain meadows to discover some magnificent scenery.
The shorter 2.3 km loop takes you to the waterfall, which unfortunately is very popular with tourists, so there is a charge for admission (€8).
On the banks of the Rhine in Rheinfelden

In 1805, Napoleon and Francis I of Austria imposed the border on the Rhine. Rheinfelden then became Rheinfelden Baden, a German industrial town, and Rheinfelden Argovie, a Swiss spa town.The route runs along the German bank, which is equipped with viewing platforms and benches, to the hydroelectric dam and then along the more wooded Swiss bank. Return via the historic town and its old bridge, the Altebrücke.

To Neuschwanstein Castle and Marienbrücke
This circular walk takes us along an easily accessible footpath up to the world-famous Neuschwanstein Castle. Along the way, we have great views of Hohenschwangau Castle opposite. From the Marienbrücke bridge, we can enjoy a breathtaking view of the castle and the surrounding Alps. The return route follows a wide forest path along the summer toboggan run – ideal for nature and culture lovers. This path is also much less frequented than the paved main path.
Totenkopf - Liliental
Loop on the southern slope of the Kaiserstuhl towards Liliental and its majestic trees.Can be extended to go around Liliental or climb Totenkopf, the highest point of the Kaiserstuhl.The circuit alternates between vineyards, viewpoints, forest and Liliental pastures.
Eïs Kappelle and Königssee

This hike allows you to discover Königssee first, as you have to take the boat to get to the starting point.
The first part of the hike is a beautiful walk through the forest with stunning views of the lake and the surrounding mountains, which rise to over 2,500 metres.
The last part, which is more challenging, allows you to admire the Eïs Kappelle with its 30-metre-wide and 15-metre-high corridors. Impressive.
Through the forest between Herdorf, Biersdorf and Niederdreisbach

A beautiful hike through the forest area between Herdorf, Biersdorf and Niederdreisbach. There are a few metres of elevation gain, as we pass the Hachenburger Höhe and the Kohlenberg, partly via the Hellerhöhenweg. Along the way, we canenjoywide views again and again.
Exit at Sallneck
Departure from Haagen near Lörrach. A beautiful route through the Kleines Wiesental valley to Sallneck, with a detour via Raich. However, I would like to point out that there are gradients of 8% in some places.
Luisenpfad adventure trail

A beautiful family trail with interactive stations such as a wooden organ or basketball hoop, plenty of seating and sweeping views, which leads along a mixture of beautiful narrow paths and slightly wider trails.
Short loop via Druidensteig

A short route that mostly follows the Druidensteig trail signs. It starts off nice and flat along the Sottersbach stream and then climbs quite steeply to a lovely spot with a swing and a hut in the middle of the forest, where children can let off some steam.
Köppel circuit: Via the Druidensteig, Siegerland-Höhenring and Hellerhöhenweg

This varied circular hike takes you through the idyllic Mahlscheid nature reserve, past the informative forest nature trail to the striking Hüllbuche beech tree. The popular Köppel restaurant is the halfway point. The first section of the tour is particularly challenging and offers some tough climbs. You will be rewarded along the way with impressive views of the Westerwald landscape.
Dahn Rock Trail Felsenpfad
A magnificent hike to discover the rock formations of the Palatinate Forest. You will walk through breathtaking scenery and discover Neudahn Castle, destroyed during the Peasants' War in the 16th century, one of the best-preserved castles in the Palatinate Forest
Kaltenbronn

Start from the Sarbacher Hotel in Kaltenbronn (Gernsbach). Several large car parks are available, so it's fairly easy to find a space. The car parks are connected by a tarmac footpath.
Ideal hike for a family outing. No steep or technical slopes.
There is a very long wooden pontoon leading to a well-preserved pond.
Pets are allowed along the entire route. The trail is well marked with the option to extend the route.
Sarre Loop from Orscholz
Sarre Loop: it goes up and down. Take a short boat trip across the Sarre during your hike for just a few euros. A beautiful spot where you can enjoy a drink at a bar by the water before continuing on your way. Really lovely
From Steinen to Albbruck in the Black Forest

This nine-day route allows you to discover different aspects of the southern Black Forest.Starting from Steinen in the Kleines Wiesental, you will cross beautiful forests to reach the pretty village of Kandern. Then, for four days, you will follow the Schwarzwald Westweg trail, passing through the highest peaks of the Black Forest: Belchen, Feldberg and Herzogenhorn.You will also stop off at Titisee, a pleasant lakeside resort. The second part of the route is devoted to the Albsteig, a trail that follows the River Alb from its source at the foot of the Feldberg to Albbruck, where the River Alb flows into the Rhine. On the way, you will stop at Sankt Blasien, a remarkable town with a magnificent cathedral and cloister.
Circuit starting from Haslach via the Sacred Well and the Urenkopf

A beautiful hike starting from Haslach that takes you to the Sacred Well and Chapel, the Urenkopf and the Devil's Pulpit rocks. Very pleasant in warm weather as it is mostly shaded but offers some beautiful views.
Shrecksee
Hinterstein - Shreksee - Kirchdachsattel - Hinterstein
Route starts from Hinterstein parking. We hiked, but it is possible to take the bus to Kraftwerk Auele, where the trailhead begins. It is a difficult trail with steep inclines with loose rocks and water runoff. It is possible to swim in the lake, and the view from the saddle is really nice.
Campingroute Eisenach forest walk

We created this nice walk through the forest of Thüringen ourselves. Mostly following the main path, but sometimes we took some smaller paths. Ideal for hot summer days.
Take enough food and drinks with you because you won't pass any villages or pubs.
Dragons canyon (Drachenschlucht)

This is a walk we made in Eisenach, the Drachenschlucht.
You cannot park your car exactly at the beginning, so you have to park somewhere earlier if you come from Eisenach. You can chose any parking place. Sometimes you have to pay. We started at the Biergarten Phantasie. Free parking. From there you follow the path along the main road and you will find the entrance of the canyon.
At some places the canyon is only 65 cm wide. But it is beautiful. It can be crowded with people. We started early during the day so it was very quiet. Or you might want to go at the end of the day.
It is also possible to start at the big parking place at the end of the canyon. Just follow the road 19.
In that case you can choose to go the other way around if you want to do the canyon first.
For the rest we found our way over the forest paths. On a hot summer day it is really cool to walk under the shadow of the trees.
Görwihl - Albbruck

This ninth stage will take you from Görwihl to Albbruck. The route follows the Albsteig Schwartzwald. You will enjoy the pretty waterfalls of the Höllbach and follow the Alb to its confluence with the Rhine. Once you arrive in Albbruck, the end of the hike, you can choose between Albbruck or Laufenburg, a beautiful German-Swiss village, for your overnight stay.
Wittenschwand - Görwihl

This eighth stage will take you from Wittenschwand to Görwihl. The route follows the Albsteig Schwartzwald. You will cross the beautiful Dachsberg forest and follow the Alb. In the evening, you will stop in the pleasant village of Görwihl.
Sankt Blasien - Wittenschwand

This seventh stage will take you from Sankt Blasien to Wittenschwand. The route follows the Albsteig Schwartzwald. You will follow the Alb and walk along the Albstausee to the dam. In the evening, you will stop in the charming village of Wittenschwand.
The Cherry Walk
A walk through the forest and vineyard of Nussbach with a lot a chery trees in the spring.
From amazing view point on the Vosges and black forest, to tiny (or bigger) chappel passing by lambs and goats, this hike is easy to do.
Think to bring a hat as part of the hike is fully exposed to the sun.
A pleasant walk for a Sunday afternoon.
Feldberg Passhöhe - Sankt Blasien

This sixth stage will take you from Feldberg Passhöhe to Sankt Blasien. The route follows the Albsteig Schwartzwald. The highest point of the day is the Herzogenhorn, the third highest peak in the Black Forest. You will enjoy a 360° panorama. In the evening, you will visit the town of Sankt Blasien with its imposing cathedral, whose dome is the third largest in Europe.
Titisee - Feldberg Passöhe

This fifth stage will take you from Titisee to Feldberg Passöhe. The route follows the Westweg Schwartzwald. In the evening, you will stop at Feldberg Passhöhe, which, at 1,231 metres above sea level, is the second highest mountain pass in Germany.
Notschreipass - Titisee

This fourth stage will take you from Notschreipass to Titisee. The route follows the Westweg Schwartzwald. The highest point of the day is Feldberq, the highest peak in the Black Forest. You will enjoy panoramic views as far as Mont Blanc. In the evening, you can enjoy a walk along the lake in the pleasant spa resort of Titisee.
Haldenhof - Notschreipass

This third stage will take you from the Auberge d'Haldenhof to Notschreipass. The route follows the Westweg Schwartzwald. The highest point of the day is at Belchen, which offers a panoramic view. On a clear day, you can see the Alps from Austria to Mont Blanc.
Kandern - Haldenhof

This second stage will take you from Kandern to the Haldenhof Inn. The route follows the Westweg Schwartzwald. Along the way, you will discover Sausenburg Castle. The highest point of the day is at Blauen, which offers a panoramic view of the Black Forest.
Steinen - Kandern

This first stage will take you from Steinen to Kandern. Starting from Steinen in the Kleines Wiesental, you will cross beautiful forests to reach the Black Forest trail: the Westweg Schwarzwald in the pretty village of Kandern.
Around Gengenbach
Hike in the hills above Gengenbach. Parking next to a clinic. The route is accessible to all, with forest paths and small trails. The climb at the start is long but easy, and then you come to some small paths. At the end of the route, there is a magnificent view of the town of Gengenbach.
From the Panke to the heart of Berlin on a nature discovery trail
Discover Berlin and its centre on a green route along the Panke and Spree rivers, much of which is landscaped as a park. Explore a former industrial area on a trail that follows a stream, a pond, a canal and even a former royal waterway.
Take advantage of this unique opportunity to cross Berlin on foot on an almost entirely pedestrianised path.
Henstedter Moor and Oberalsterniederung

A varied hiking tour from the source of the Alster in Henstedt-Ulzburg through the Henstedter Moor and Oberalsterniederung nature reserves with the Schlappenmoor.
Green Ring Hamburg

The Green Ring runs for about 100 kilometres, divided into eight stages, around the city centre of Hamburg. The hiking trail is mostly well signposted with white lettering on a green background. We follow the Green Ring with a few deviations and detours.
Green Ring: Heimfeld to Finkenwerder

Hike on the Green Ring in Hamburg from Heimfeld to Finkenwerder. Highlights of the tour include the Süderelbmarsch and Gorch-Fock-Park.
Neckarsteig (E4) from Hirschhorn to Eberbach
Through the Neckar Valley along the Neckarsteig, a quality hiking trail (Qualitätsweg Wanderbares Deutschland) covering around 128 km from Heidelberg to Bad Wimpfen. The long-distance hiking trail can be hiked as a multi-day or day tour. This stage takes you from Hirschhorn to Eberbach.
Peacock Island in the Wannsee
Short round trip across the picturesque Peacock Island in the Wannsee. In addition to the beautiful landscape, there are also interesting buildings to discover, such as the dairy farm and the castle. You can also observe the peacocks that live here, some of which roam freely on the island, while others live in aviaries.Please note: There is a charge for the ferry to the island.
Dream loop tour – Wehinger Viezpfad

The heights of the Saargau above Wehingen can be reached via the slopes of the Kewelsberg through a sea of green limestone. After the descent, there are numerous old orchards, unspoilt stream valleys with clear, bubbling streams and sunken paths in extensive wooded areas.
Kölner Weg - Stage 17 - Rottbitze, Siebengebirge, Drachenfels, Königswinter
The last stage of the Cologne Trail will remain unforgettable for many hikers. On its long journey from Cologne through the Bergisches Land and the Westerwald, the Cologne Trail leads to Himmerich, which offers wonderful views. After that, the trail approaches its last and perhaps most beautiful sections. We wander along beautiful forest paths through the Siebengebirge and can make a detour to the Löwenburg. Finally, we visit the Drachenfels and hike through the famous Nachtigallental valley to Königswinter.
Kölner Weg - Stage 16 - Along the Wied and Pfaffenbach Valley to Rottbitze
The penultimate section of the Cologne Trail initially runs along a wildly romantic section high above the Wied, then along the former Linz-Neustadt railway line. We climb uphill through a deciduous forest to Rüddel, where we can enjoy a beautiful view. Later, we hike steeply down to Hammerhof and continue through the Pfaffenbach valley. Following the Windhagenerbach stream, we reach Windhagen with its beautiful St. Bartholomäus church. The hike ends in Rottbitze.
