By car, leave the main road and take the small forest road for about 3 km until you reach the car park below the Todnauerhütte. This road is tarmac and in fairly good condition. There is a small car park in front of the inn for hikers. There is also a private car park in front of the inn, but this is for guests only.
(S/E) Take the tarmac road towards the inn, then turn left towards Sankt-Wilhelmer-Hütte-Weg.
As you go around the Feldberg, turn right at the crossroads until you reach the Sankt Wilhelmer Hütte.
(1) Continue along this wide path after the inn, also known as the Feldbergsteig, for about 400 metres and turn right onto the small path leading up to the Zastler Hütte.
(2) Descend on the Naturlehrpfad (nature trail) that comes from our right from the Feldberg to the inn. Join a wide path between the buildings and the Zastler inn.
(3) After 100 metres, take the path on the right that climbs towards the Naturfreundehaus, still on the Feldbergstein path.
(4) When you reach the Naturfreundehaus Feldberg, walk past it and climb up to the right along the trees towards Feldberg and the Naturlehrpfad. There is no need to go as far as the Baldenweger Hütte. The path climbs in a zigzag pattern.
(5) Pass the Baldenweger Buck at 1,460 metres with a superb view of the Black Forest. Continue along this path to the Felberg at 1,493 metres.
(6) At the summit, enjoy the benches and the superb view of the Alps in good weather and the Black Forest. You can see the Todtnauer Hütte below. Take the path on the right that descends to it. Pass in front of Todtnauer Hütte and continue along the road that takes you back to the car park at the start (S/E).
