Starting point at Waldparkplatz in Mullheim. Follow the signs for the swimming pool and football stadium. After the stadium, walk 200 m uphill into the forest: park in the large car park on the right with various trail signs.
(S/E) Head north and descend 200 metres into the forest. At Ziegel Hütte, turn right onto Lipburgerweg (yellow diamond). Pass the shooting range and stay on the main path, ignoring all side paths. You will reach Blauenblick, a beautiful viewpoint.
(1) Take the path downhill to the left, the Kohlagerweg, which runs alongside a stream to the road. At the road, cross the bridge and take the small path to the left on the other side of the stream.
(2) Opposite a farm, take the path on the right (yellow diamond) going uphill. At a T-junction, turn left.
(3) At a signposted intersection, turn right onto René Schickele Weg, lined with polished stone sculptures, until you reach the village of Lipburg.
(4) Descend to the right along the road towards the village centre. At the next intersection, turn right and then immediately right again. You will then see a small bell tower and can admire the old clock mechanism through the glass door. Continue along the main road for about 300 metres.
(5) At the bridge, turn left (yellow diamond). After about 150 metres, turn right (north-west). At the fork, turn left
(6) At the next intersection, before Blauenblick, turn left towards the mushroom farm. Walk past it and take the path that climbs to the right (yellow diamond). Note the view of Lipburg.
(7) When you reach a wide path, the Grentzweg, follow it to the right (yellow diamond). At the first crossroads, continue straight ahead, ignoring a path coming from the right, and at the second crossroads, continue straight ahead to reach a picnic area.
(8) Continue north on Grentzweg. Take the first path on the right, Sonnenbückleweg (yellow diamond). At the next intersection, turn left onto Eselweg and then left again onto Ziegelweg.
(9) Pass the Nikolaus Eiche, a large oak tree, and continue north and downhill on Ziegelweg to the car park (S/E).
I'd recommend taking a snack break here rather than at (8), unless you're in a large group.
