Discover the orchards and vineyards of Nussbach

Parking is available next to the Nussbach cemetery.

(S/E) With your back to the cemetery, follow Nesselrieder Strasse on the right. At the intersection a little further up, turn left until you reach the playground. Keep to the right of the playground. At the bend in the road, follow the path on the left.

(1) At the fork, turn right and follow the path that enters the forest a little further on.

(2) Turn right and follow the signs for Waldparkplatz.

(3) Turn left and follow the tarmac path uphill through the orchards. Turn left onto a road.

(4) Then cross a housing estate. At the end of the estate, follow the street on the left to Waldparkplatz Nesselried. From there, continue along the road with caution.

(5) Leave the road and follow the path that climbs to the left until you reach a car park with tables and benches. From there, cross the road carefully and follow the path that climbs opposite. When you reach a crossroads, continue straight ahead.

(6) At the edge of the forest, turn left and walk along the vineyards. You will be rewarded with beautiful panoramic views!

(7) At the crossroads, follow the path on the left for a few metres and then take the path that climbs between the forest and the vineyards. View of Schloss Staufenberg, where you can stop for a bite to eat or a drink. Then follow the panoramic path, with magnificent views of Durbach and its surroundings .

(8) Follow the path on the left that enters the forest. It turns to the right and arrives at a new crossroads; turn left.

(9) At the crossroads, follow the path that climbs up between the vineyards to reach the Teufelskapelle chapel. After the chapel, follow the path that descends to the left, in the large bend (there are benches and tables here).

(10) When you reach the three-way junction, follow the middle path towards Weilerwald. When you leave the forest, take care and follow the path that descends to the right through the vineyards for a few metres, then back into the forest.

(11) Turn right towards the Saint-Wendelin Chapel.

(12) When you leave the forest, turn left to reach Münsterblich, then continue towards the Saint-Wendelin Chapel.

(13) After the chapel, follow the road carefully on the left for a good 200 metres.

(14) Turn left and follow the path through the vineyards to reach the Judas-Thaddäus-Kapelle chapel. From there, follow the small road on the left that descends into the village of Herztal.
After the Winzerstube, continue along the small road that branches off to the left and takes you back to the playground you saw at the start.

(1) Continue straight ahead to reach the car park (S/E).

There are several shelters with tables and benches along the route, as well as numerous benches where you can rest or enjoy the beautiful scenery!
You can enjoy a meal or a drink at Schloss Staufenberg along the way, or at Weingut Herztal mit Strausswirtschaft "Müllers Weinecke" and Gasthaus "Zur Winzerstube" in the village of Herztal.
