Recloses walks

Circular starting from the charming village of Recloses. Rocks and forest slightly different from the forest of Fontainebleau.

This walk explores the Rocher de la Combe and its spectacular quarries, and flirts with the Rocher des Demoiselles, part of which is covered by the Blue loop. The surrounding paths are enchanting: Route de la Beauté, Carrefour du Bonheur, where you will encounter Dryads, Satyrs and Fauns. Many of the paths are very quiet. And as always in Fontainebleau, there is a great variety of vegetation. There are numerous changes of direction, so remain vigilant.

Embark on a journey to Cythera, follow paths of seduction and tenderness, and make a date with happiness on this hike in the southern part of the Forest of Fontainebleau. In one area of this vast forest, the paths have been named after romantic figures... On this very wooded route, other references are used to name the paths: different kinds of birds, bandits and other criminals, and even the pope...

A hike from station to station, mainly through forest, crossing the rocky chaos of Maunoury, Dame Jouanne and Éléphant, which are every bit as impressive as those in the neighbouring Fontainebleau Forest. The village of Larchant, with its church and a few old houses, adds a superb touch of heritage.

A very "mineral" hike, from Salamandre Rock to Mont Morillon Rock, passing by the rocks of La Combe (former sandstone quarries), Mauvais Passage and Les Demoiselles. This hike uses unmarked trails, some of which are not shown on the IGN map. The use of the Visorando app on your smartphone is therefore strongly recommended.

A loop in the heart of Fontainebleau: a magnificent poetic pond, venerable oak trees, four viewpoints, memories of revolutionary battles, a cave, a chasm, sandstone cliffs... and plenty of peace and quiet.

The very enjoyable scent of pine is everywhere. And the small sand dune that I would the "Little Dune of Pyla" is lovely.

Take a loop around the Étang de la Clarette, with a short historical walk along the Loing and through the wonderful village of Gretz-sur-Loing. Very pleasant, with unforgettable views along the Loing.

Tour of the Commanderie Forest, with numerous viewpoints over the village of Larchant and its basilica. Nine kilometres with some steep climbs and a few rocky sections on a very shady route. If you don't make any noise, you may be surprised by the passing of a deer or a roe deer.

Beautiful walk in the Dame Jouanne massif with magnificent views and a few curiosities.

This quite long route allows you to discover exceptional sites such as the Rempart du Restant du Long Rocher ('the rampart of the remainder of Long Rock'), Béatrix Cave and Carrosse Rock. You will also go past magnificent viewpoints, rarely visited walkways and some beautiful ponds, typical of the forest.

A short, family-friendly and very varied hike. The paths that wind between the rocks alternate with wider forest tracks.

This beautiful circular allows you to discover remarkable points of interest in the Gorges du Houx and Franchard. It is an opportunity to make some wonderful discoveries in this renowned part of the Fontainebleau forest.

Starting from an old retreat which has been visited since the 11th century, this hike allows you to explore the Gorges de Franchard and the surrounding areas. Winding through rocks and several rock shelters such as the well-known Antre des Druides. N.B. The difference in altitude is probably higher than stated: roughly 100 metres and a 2 hour walk.

From the Ermitage de Franchard, this is a very varied hike which will take you past old sandstone quarries, the Gorges du Houx and the charming Mare aux Pigeons. On the route are several vast viewing points, numerous spectacular rocks and the curious Grotte du Serment cave. N.B. The elevation and the time shown appear to be under-estimated: count on about 250 meters and 4 hours of walking.

Depart from the Maison Forestière de Maintenon for a 16 km walk.

A hike from station to station starting from Montigny-sur-Loing. A varied route through the forest with a few rocks and the banks of the Loing. The Loing valley is an authentic green paradise that can be explored over a medium distance via footpaths, rural tracks and towpaths. This route takes you along the river and the canal of the same name, which flow side by side until they meet the Seine.

A simple and varied circuit in the forest of Fontainebleau, with views above the trees and rocks, and different landscapes every kilometre. Please note that weather conditions and the use of certain paths by mountain bikes can make this hike muddy and very slippery in places. Therefore, please be very careful.

An easy hike with two bird observatories at the Plaine de Sorques, a sensitive natural area. Bring binoculars.

A walk that takes in several forest viewpoints and passes through little-known areas and quiet paths. Moderately challenging with some steep climbs.

This hike showcases much of the diverse landscape of the Fontainebleau Forest: rocky outcrops, plateaus, deciduous forests, pine forests, heathland, ponds and sweeping views.

A short, easy themed route showcasing rock art discovered in the Forest of Fontainebleau and in the south of the Île-de-France region. Seven chronological information panels, with representations of the landscape at the time, photos and casts of engravings, take us on a journey from the Palaeolithic era to the present day. The route was designed, developed and is maintained by the ONF.

A half-day walk that takes you to the Tour de La Vierge, the Vanne and Loing aqueducts, and the Hurlevent and Hautes Plaines viewpoints. All this while following part ofthe GR®®11through beautiful rock formations and quiet connecting paths where you can relax. Please note: the walk is 14 km long with a 300 m elevation gain. It is quite challenging for a relatively short hike.

A course over hills, with beautiful views of the Massif des Trois Pignons. Passages on platières in the middle of the moor with an unobstructed view, interspersed with passages in undergrowth and amid boulders. A varied, rather sporty hike. N.B. The drop is probably underestimated: expect something more in the order of 300 metres.

The Massif des Trois Pignons is situated on the edge of Fontainebleau forest. The walk takes you past the Rocher des Guetteurs, the Sables du Cul du Chien, the Diplodocus, and the Rocher de la Tortue.

A beautiful hike with some elevation gain in the wildest and most beautiful areas of the Trois Pignons massif. It combines the beautiful Dénécourt trail no. 16 (the Sentier des Belvédères via the Laris Qui Parle) with a more athletic section of the Circuit des 25 Bosses. Actual elevation gain (altimeter measurement): 580m.

The Rocher des Princes is a medium-difficulty loop in the pretty Fontainebleau Forest. It alternates between fairly steep climbs and descents with flat paths, allowing you to rest between the difficult sections.

As the name suggests, is this route ascends 25 mounds that form a circuit of the of the Trois Pignons forest. A hike amid the rocks that makes an excellent training run before mountain hikes in the summer. N.B. The elevation is underestimated: between 800 and 900 metres total cumulative change in altitude. It’s difficult to find a larger change in altitude in the Ile-de-France, unless you want to take the steps up and down the Eiffel Tower three times on the trot. Expect to be walking for 6 to 7 hours.

Fontainebleau forest is one of the most beautiful French forests thanks to its varied landscapes and, in particular, its sandstone blocks. This hike circles the Apremont gorges along the Colinet-Denecourt path N°6 and lets you enjoy it in all its beauty and fragility, the latter due both to natural erosion and human use, and is near the Paris region.

A hike in a little-visited part of the Forêt des Trois Pignons, through several biological reserves. This varied route alternates between forest paths, trails that wind between rocks and open stretches on flat rock outcrops. This hike requires a good sense of direction.

This long hike takes you on a fairly comprehensive tour of the magnificent Coquibus massif: heather-covered plateaus and water holes, deciduous woods, rocks, viewpoints, the Vanne aqueduct (sandstone steps), etc.

Une randonnée qui passe du plateau du Coquibus à celui des Belvédères afin de varier les paysages et les points de vue. Cette randonnée se fait à la demi-journée. Le détour par le "Chapeau de Napoléon" est supprimé: passage trop délicat pour un intérêt limité.

From the village of Arbonne, take a tour of the various plateaus to see some of the curiosities of the Fontainebleau forest, such as a small mausoleum, an engraved canopy, a cave, a quarryman's shelter, etc.

The best of the Denecourt-Colinet trails nos. 1, 2 and 3 in a day's hike! The Croix d'Augas, the rocks of Mont Ussy, the Solle racecourse, the Rocher Cassepot, the Denecourt Tower, the Circuit des Fontaines, and return via the beautiful viewpoint of the Croix du Calvaire. N.B. As is often the case with the Denecourt-Colinet trails, the automatic calculation underestimates the twists and turns in the rocks: allow for 17 km and 250 m of elevation gain, or 5 hours.

A succession of beautiful, long, shaded and sunny paths between two rocky outcrops. Discover the natural diversity of the Fontainebleau Massif with minimal road crossings.

An easy route on marked paths, passing several interesting points of interest: monuments, Roche Éponge, springs, Tour Dénécourt, Mares Froideau, Rocher Cassepot, Rocher Saint-Germain, Grotte aux Cristaux, Mare à Piat, Butte Saint-Louis and Petit Mont. Most of the route is in the shade, with beautiful trees.

It is a short, relatively easy circuit exploring some curiosities of the forest of Fontainebleau around the Avon SNCF train station, namely the views over the Croix du Calvaire, the Sponge Rock, Denecourt Tower and fountains. One could also call it the fountain circuit.

This circuit connects the Gorges d'Apremont and the Gorges de Franchard, passing by the beautiful viewpoint of Camp d'Arbonne and offering a little-known view of the Désert d'Apremont. It uses some sections of the Denecourt-Colinet trails, runs along some peaceful paths with poetic names and passes by the beautiful Mare aux Sangliers.

This route connects two towers (the Tour Denecourt and the Tour de Samois) via relatively quiet trails, mainly the Denecourt-Colinet and Samoisiens trails.

This circuit offers a large loop that connects Barbizon to the Rocher de Milly, passing through Isatis and the Rochers des Sablons (very beautiful sandstone quarries). It then joins the Hurlevent viewpoint, crosses the beautiful and wild Touche aux Mulets plateau, then, after crossing the Rocher de Milly again, reaches Franchard, the Gorges d'Apremont and the André Billy viewpoint. Many "wild" and unfrequented sections.

From the beautiful Rocher Saint-Germain and its Crystal Cave to the surprising Rocher Canon, via the Table du Grand Maître, the Longues Vallées and the Butte Saint-Louis. Please note: the automatic calculation underestimates the twists and turns of the Blue trails. Allow for 18 km and 300 m of elevation gain. Allow 6 hours of walking time.

The most beautiful and rocky part of the Denecourt-Colinet trail No. 5 is completed by a circular loop around the massif with views of Camp de Chailly and Rocher Canon. Please note! The automatic calculation underestimates the twists and turns of the rocky Denecourt-Colinet trails. Allow for 19 km and 400 m of elevation gain.

Barbizon, the city of painters. There are numerous frescoes on the walls of the Grande Rue, depicting the paintings of our great artists. And there is a natural rock sculpture representing "the Elephant".

A rural hike that alternates between old villages, former quarries, forest and the banks of the Seine. The road that was previously used for the return journey has changed from a private road to a public road and is no longer suitable for walking, hence a significant change to the route.

Poligny Forest, at the southern end of the Fontainebleau Forest. A hike of less than 8 km, alternating between rocky and flat terrain. Discover a beautiful panorama of the Loing Valley. A very shaded circuit.
