(S/E) In the southern part of the Cabaret Masson car park, look for a path leading towards the D606, locate the Route de Luxembourg and follow it north-east. Cross a path marked in blue about ten metres from the D606, ignore a path on the left and, at the next junction, turn right onto the Route du Rocher Cassepot.
(1) At the junction with Route Eugénie, follow the Denecourt path no. 15 on the right (blue/yellow signposting; follow this path, marked in blue on the IGN map, until you reach the Denecourt Tower). After 50 m, leave the road and turn left into the woods among scattered rocks. Shortly afterwards, rejoin Route du Rocher Cassepot and cross it (ignore trail no. 14, also signposted, which branches off to the right): a sign indicates the direction of the Denecourt Tower via trail no. 15. This trail follows the northern ridge of Rocher Cassepot from west to east and winds around the largest boulders.
(2) Cross the Route du Faon (and theGR®1E), continue east and descend to cross the D116 road. At a crossroads, rejoin the Route du Rocher Cassepot and the GR®. Then follow both trail no. 15 (blue/yellow) and theGR® (red and white). Cross a small road and climb up to the Tour Denecourt. 50 metres from the summit, stay on trail no. 15, heading directly towards the ridge, while theGR® continues a little to the east.
(3) Head back the way you came; the circuit leading to the Tour de Samois starts right next to where you arrived (signposts). Follow the blue/yellow trail no. 13 (which joins theGR® for a few metres). Descend north and cross the Route du Rocher Cassepot again. Go back up and turn west (there is a beautiful beech tree at altitude 108). Go downhill, cross the Route de Luxembourg and then the D138 road. Continue along the trail, cross three perpendicular paths and then go under a railway line.
(4) Further on, you will reach a crossroads: take the 13/15 trail that goes right to the Samois forest house. Turn left, then right at a right angle. Cross a path, then take the Route des Turlures on the left.
(5) At the Pavillon Magnier, the trail turns sharply to the right (markings are not very visible) and, after about 400 metres, climbs to the left up the Rocher de Samois. Reach the tower (unfortunately, views are limited as the tower is closed off).
(6) Look for the continuation of trail 15 behind the tower, along a fenced reservoir. The trail descends to a very large boulder bearing a stele. The trail then runs alongside the houses of Samois and winds through the Samois plain (with some very beautiful trees here and there) to the railway line.
(7) Follow the railway line on the right, go through the tunnel and look for the path continuing diagonally to the right. The path crosses the Route de la Girolle, the D116 and then the D138. After this last crossroads, turn immediately left, heading south. Then cross the Route de l'Hexagone and the Route de la Plaine de Bois-le-Roi.
(8) At the next intersection (with a lone oak tree opposite), leave the marked trail and turn right (north-west) onto Route de la Biche on the right. Cross Route de l'Hexagone and Route Marrier in succession.
(9) At the crossroads, take the second path on the left, Route du Greffier. This leads to Route Victor, which you take on the left. At the next crossroads, turn into the first path on the right, Route des Ecouettes. Follow theGR®1Efor a few hundred metres. Cross Route de la Butte Saint-Louis and, a few metres further on, leave theGR® straight ahead and turn left onto Route du Dix Corps. Climb gently.
(10) Cross another path marked in blue (no. 12) and follow it to the left (south-west). At the foot of the Saint-Louis hill, join another marked path (connection 12-15): turn right and climb up the hill.
(11) Continue along the blue trail that descends from the hill, heading south. Cross the D606 road and continue straight ahead. Cross Route Raymond.
(12) After a few metres, leave the marked trail and turn right onto Route de la Hure. When you reach Route du Plateau (remnants of tarmac), follow it to the left. At the top of the hill, you will soon come across another trail marked in blue.
(13) Cross trail no. 12 and continue straight ahead on the 12-4 link (sign). The trail winds through a quarry area, crosses Route du Mont Saint-Germain and approaches the northern ridge of Rocher Saint-Germain (view of the Solle racecourse). Follow the blue markings and not the paths on either side.
(14) At the junction of the blue trails, follow trail no. 4 to the left, which leads back to the car park. The start of this section is very rough in the middle of the boulders at the edge of the plateau, so follow the markings carefully. The end is more "comfortable". The trail leads to the south of our car park, which can be reached via various paths (S/E).

it's fine.
