We found most of the trees indicated except for the oak tree between two rocks indicated "before point 1". However, we explored the area indicated on the map as "rocher du chêne" (oak rock) quite thoroughly without success. Could the author of the guidebook give us some details to help us find it? Is it near the path or further away?
Thank you in advance.
Channie.

We had already tested this route in March 2022. Obviously, the vegetation is very different now, so it doesn't feel like we're doing the same route again. On the first part, we were surprised to see a probably very old hornbeam (blue dot) that had "split" in two: the two trunks had fallen on either side. It doesn't seem very old because there are still lots of green leaves and fruit on the branches. We took photos but I don't know how to attach one.

Due to lack of time, we had to shorten the route, but we still found some beautiful specimens....

Hike ok. The only difficulty was finding parking for the start. We came from Barbizon, so make sure you leave the central square in Arbonne where cars are parked. Turn right just after that towards Courances (I don't think it's signposted) then drive for 1 or 2 minutes until you cross the motorway and only then will you see the next car park on the left for 4 or 5 cars, unfortunately without any specific signage. Note that we used a printed map and not a mobile phone. Enjoy the hike.

A pleasant and varied hike. We didn't find all the trees indicated, but some were quite distinctive (several of which had a blue dot). We noticed that there were indeed many beautiful trees in this area... despite recent logging.
