From Montigny-sur-Loing to Moret-Veneux-les-Sablons

Departure from Montigny-sur-Loing station (Transilien line R).

(S) Take the exit towards Avenue de la Gare and follow it to the right. Go up the steps on the left and turn right and then left onto Rue des Villers.

(1) At the end, follow Rue des Rouisses to the right, following the yellow PR® signs. Take the second left, Rue du Clos, and immediately right onto Ruelle du Clos.

(2) At the end, turn right and then left to follow Ruelle de la Paloterie. Cross Rue des Champs Perault and continue straight ahead. The tarmac soon gives way to a path that enters a wood.

(3) At an intersection, turn right onto Chemin des Boulins. Continue straight ahead and ignore the turnoffs on either side.

(4) At the end of the road (small road on the right), turn left onto Chemin des Rondeaux. Immediately turn right between the fields on the right and the woods on the left.

(5) You will come to a small road; follow it to the right. Go under the railway bridge and continue straight ahead, still following the PR®.

(6) At the crossroads, turn left onto Rue de la Chicane and enter Sorques, walking alongside houses and a stream. At the next crossroads, turn right onto Rue du Mur.

(7) At the next crossroads, follow Rue Roger Genty to the left. Cross Route de Fontainebleau (D148), continue straight ahead along Route de Moret and pass a water treatment plant.

(8) Take the first path on the right and immediately turn right again (yellow PR® sign). Pass a car park and continue straight ahead until you reach the Loing. Then turn left and away from the river.

(9) At the T-junction, turn right onto a path. Continue along a trail that goes around the ponds of a bird sanctuary.

(10) Then follow the Loing on your right. After a few kilometres, the path turns left, away from the river, and leads to a T-junction.

(11) Turn right. Continue straight ahead (northeast) into the Bois le Chêne Rond.

(12) Cross a wide path, continue straight ahead and follow a pond on your right. At the next intersection, turn right between two ponds.

(13) At the T-junction, turn left and follow a pond on your left. Continue north-east between fields and meadows. Cross a stream, ignore a turning on your right and turn left to join a small road.

(14) Follow this road to the right and pass under the D606 bridge. Continue straight ahead on Rue Madame.

(15) Take the hairpin bend to the right onto Rue du Donjon. After a left-hand bend, pass a nursery school. When you reach Rue Montmartre (on the left), take the steps on the right. Then turn left onto Rue de la Tannerie. You will arrive at the foot of the Porte de Bourgogne.

(16) Go straight ahead onto Rue de la Pêcherie and then immediately right onto Rue le Pré Margaron. Turn left immediately onto a path and follow the Loing River on your right. At each intersection, keep right to stay as close to the river as possible. Continue for about 2 km with the GR®1 (red and white markings). Pass under the Saint-Mammès Viaduct and you will immediately come to a road.

(17) Follow the road to the left (Rue du Viaduc). Continue straight ahead, parallel to the viaduct, then the railway line, ignoring all turnings on the right. This will take you to Moret-Veneux-les-Sablons station (Transilien line R) (E).

The departure and arrival stations are on the same Transilien line. Drivers can therefore park at one of the stations and make a return trip by train.
