(S/E) Starting from the Bois-Rond car park, walk past the Auberge on the right, along Chemin de l'Auberge.
(1) Continue straight ahead after crossing Chemin du Bois. Tackle the only real difficulty of the circuit, a short climb over rocks to reach the Rocher de la Reine plateau.
Once on the plateau, enjoy the view of part of the Fontainebleau forest and its surroundings. The map makes it easy to find your way around (2417OT).
Turn right and follow the green and white markings on the rocks shaped like lying animals until you descend to the left.
(2) Cross the Vanne, which is an underground aqueduct, go straight on along the Route du Liteau, follow it slightly diagonally to the right until you cross the Route de Milly and take the Route de la Louve opposite. Follow it for a little over 2km.
(3) Turn right onto Route du Rocher de Milly (not to be confused with Route de Milly, which you will cross again to begin the return leg of the circuit).
After reaching Route de la Princesse Marie 300 metres from the crossroads, turn left and follow it for 100 metres.
(4) Leave it by taking Route de l'Oeil. Go straight ahead, cross Route de Cévise, and join Route de la Rabouillère.
(5) Turn right onto Route de la Gibelotte, continue along it until you reach Route d'Achères, turn left onto it and rejoin theGR®1at the next crossroads. Follow it straight ahead until you return to the car park (S/E) at Bois-Rond.
