Apremont Gorges and Platières

This hike begins by winding its way through the boulders of the Gorges d'Apremont and ends, more high up, on the plateaus. It is a fairly open route, pleasant in winter, but busier in spring and summer due to its proximity to Barbizon.

Description of the walk

Park in the Gorges d'Apremont car park, at the Carrefour du Bas Bréau.

(S/E) Follow the Blue Route No. 6, to the left of the refreshment bar. You will reach the Caverne des Brigands.

(1) Continue straight ahead on the same route. Pass the Mare aux Biches and arrive at the junction with the Blue Route No. 6-6.

(2) Take this route on the left, staying on Blue Route No. 6.

(3) At the junction, continue straight ahead, heading east, and join the crossroads with the Route des Gorges d'Apremont.

(4) Leave the Blue Route No. 6 on your right and take the Route des Gorges d'Apremont on your left to follow the Blue Route No. 6-6. You will reach a junction a few dozen metres from the Route de Barbizon in Fontainebleau.

(5) Turn right at the hairpin bend and go straight up to the viewpoint.

(6) Retrace your steps and rejoin the route on the right.

(7) Pass by the Mare aux Sangliers and rejoin the Blue Route No. 6.

(8) Head right and continue on this route. Arrive at Carrefour du Désert.

(9) Turn left, staying on the Blue Route No. 6-6.

(10) A few dozen metres before reaching Carrefour du Milan, take the Blue route no. 6 on the right.

(11) At the junction, continue straight ahead, following the blue trail no. 6.

(12) Cross Route de Sully and rejoin the route opposite. Join the GR®1 and continue to the right, now following the double markings. Pass the Gorges d'Apremont viewpoint and continue straight ahead.

(13) Leave the Blue route no. 6 and continue straight ahead, turning right and staying on the GR®1. You will come out onto the Allée des Vaches.

(14) Turn right to return to the Carrefour du Bois Bréau and the car park (S/E).
