The Lawe is a river that rises in Rocourt-en-l’Eau, a hamlet of Magnicourt-en-Comté. This short walk of around 7.5 km is perfect for families and their canine companions. You’ll discover the village of Magnicourt-en-Comté, its12th-century church, its wooded surroundings and its paths. There are a few hills but nothing insurmountable.

Starting from Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise, the Fossé Cagnu route takes you along a few of the town’s narrow lanes, then along paths that are sometimes damp, followed by a short detour through the village of Troisvaux before descending the famous ditch. Along the way, it’s not uncommon to spot a few deer.

This hike takes you to Mont de La Comté, where the view is well worth seeing. You may be lucky enough to spot some roe deer on the edge of the surrounding woods. You will pass through the pretty village of La Comté with its waterfall, old mill and beautiful church.

A beautiful hike along the Henry V trail around the plain where the Battle of Agincourt took place in 1415.

You’ll discover these two villages linked by beautiful paths, some stony, some earthen. You should spot plenty of flora and fauna along the way. It’s advisable to do this route in dry weather as some sections can be muddy.

A lovely walk starting from the church in Auchy-lès-Hesdin, taking you across the Mont Galant plateau with its beautiful panoramic views. You’ll walk along the edge of the Hesdin State Forest, with a view of the Ferme du Bois-Saint-Jean, a former commandery of the Order of Hospitallers. The only challenging bit is a hill as you leave the village of Auchy.

A walk through the Ternois countryside, between woodland and open countryside, taking you to the headwaters of the Ternoise and the woods of Saint-Pol and Saint-Michel, where, with a bit of luck and if you keep quiet, you might spot some roe deer. Take care when crossing the woods during the hunting season.

This hike starts at the Bours keep and takes us along paths and through woods to the top of a hill with remarkable views. You will descend via Les Eguerguettes towards the village. Please note: the descent is difficult in wet weather. The hike ends with a short tour of the narrow streets of Bours.

A short walk around and through a village in the Ternois region called Oeuf-en-Ternois. The walk through the village is interesting and the paths are very pleasant. At the Bois Robert crossroads, you may, like me, encounter a few deer.

A beautiful route starting from Brias with its church and castle towards the Moulin Blanc plain, the village of Valhuon and the Bois d'Antigneul, where it is not uncommon to encounter a few deer. This route is marked in yellow for the most part and is fairly easy to follow and without difficulty.

A short walk alternating between roads, tracks and forest paths. You’ll be treated to some stunning views, especially in fine weather.

A walk starting from the Bours Keep that takes you up onto the plateau with some remarkable views. You’ll then head back down towards the village and finish with a short stroll through the narrow streets of Bours.

A lovely walk, mostly along forest paths that are very pleasant in sunny, warm weather. If you set off early in the morning, you’re likely to come across roe deer out for a stroll in the woods. Please note: the path is closed during the hunting season.

Le Pronay, a hamlet of Ramecourt with its ‘Cathedral’ (3), so named by one of our members: it is in fact a chapel. You’ll reach it by crossing the Bois de Pronay. For the return journey, follow a section of the old railway line from Saint-Pol to Frévent and, to finish, you’ll pass in front of Sains Castle. A largely shaded walk.

A pleasant walk starting from Boubers-sur-Canche, with its castle and St Leger’s Church, which, passing through La Canche, leads to the Vacquerie-le-Boucq plateau, skirting the Bois Madame, then descends along the Bois des Avents back to Boubers-sur-Canche.

Walk around Fresnicourt le DolmenStarting from Olhain Castle and heading towards the ‘Table aux Fées’ dolmen, you’ll pass two sandstone crosses dating from the 13th and 16th centuries, then the hamlet of Verdrel and the Olhain State Forest with its leisure centre, before returning through the forest. Superb views over the plain and its villages.It’s best to do this walk in dry weather, as the paths can be difficult when wet.

A lovely hike in the Ternois region starting from the charming village of Humières with its castle and cave. You’ll be walking mainly on paths and trails that can get muddy in wet weather, but the scenery quickly makes you forget that.

Following in the footsteps of Charles V (1500–1558) from Vieil-Hesdin, you’ll pass an old convent and cross the River Canche. The path will take you up to the heights of Le Quesnoy-en-Artois, and the return journey is all downhill via the Chemin des Morts. You’ll be treated to some lovely views of the Hesdin Forest, and if, like me, you’re lucky, you might spot a few roe deer.

A walk between Ternois and Artois, taking you past the villages of La Thieuloye, Dieval, Ourton, Beugin and La Comté. You’ll be walking mainly on paths, some of which may be muddy in wet weather. On the Hazois plateau, you can enjoy a lovely 360° view in fine weather.

A short walk in the Ternois region, starting from Anvin. A short climb will take you up to Mont d’Heuchin.Descend to Bergueneuse and return through the countryside to the starting point.Stunning views throughout the walk and plenty of opportunities for some lovely photos.

A short walk around Fressin with a few climbs through lovely scenery. Head up through the Fressin woods, cross the Planquette, and walk across the plateau where you’ll find great photo opportunities of Fressin Castle – a castle you’ll get to see up close on the way back.The path is well signposted in yellow. Some might say there’s no point in detailing signposted paths, but for me it’s important to share them with the community.

Starting from Équirre Castle, which was reduced by half following a fire, this walk takes you to the small village of Prédefin and back via the Lisbourg plain. The paths taken by the GRP® Tour du Ternois Nord are partly cultivated between points (8) and (9), but don't hesitate to cross them as they are often used by farmers.
