The Chevrette Trail in Fressin

A short walk around Fressin with a few climbs through lovely scenery. Head up through the Fressin woods, cross the Planquette, and walk across the plateau where you can take some lovely photos of Fressin Castle, which you’ll get a closer look at on the way back.
Well-marked yellow trail. Some might say there’s no point in describing marked trails, but for me it’s important to share them with the community.

We recommend good equipment, walking shoes and walking poles, which are very useful on slippery descents in wet weather.
Don’t forget your water bottle.

Worth a visit

Château de Fressin: Built in the 15th century by Jean V de Créquy

A lovely walk with some superb little paths – just the sort we like.
A visit to the village of Fressin, which is well worth a visit given its architectural treasures (church***, ruins of the Château du Sire de Créquy, G. Bernanos’s house, the forester’s lodge...)
3 points to note:
- The total elevation gain is not 138 m but 210 metres!
- Rue de l’Enfer (point 8): there are two paths. Take the one on the right, blocked by a pile of rubble that you need to climb over (the wider, more inviting path on the left is a dead end!).
- Point 10: ... go through the gate and DO NOT continue straight on but turn immediately right after passing through the gate to head back towards the village, following the edge of a private woodland. (As shown on the map. Error in the description)
A truly beautiful route.

The VISORANDO description states:

(2) At the isolated house, at a crossroads, take the path ... until you reach the junction with a road.

WARNING! It should be noted that the path is not visible from the crossroads: you must therefore walk across the lawn, follow the wall of the isolated house, and continue for about twenty metres before you see it below.

OTHERWISE YOU RISK TAKING THE FOREST PATH JUST AFTER AND FINDING YOURSELF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOREST ...

A lovely walk. A quick detour to the castle at the end of the route should be interesting.
But it was closed that day.
Best regards from a fellow walker
