Park in the square just after the castle.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, follow the road on the right towards the south-east.
(1) At the roundabout opposite the sandstone cross, turn right and leave the two roads on your right.
(2) 30 metres from the road, take the path on the right just after the house and follow it for about 800 metres. At the first crossroads, turn left onto the path towards the D57.
(3) Enter Fresnicourt-le-Dolmen and at the junction with the D57, turn right, pass in front of the town hall and take the first road on the left towards the church, before the Y-junction. Turn left onto the yellow marked path.
(4) At the junction with the D57 opposite the calvary and the isolated farm, cross carefully and follow Rue du Dolmen opposite, passing in front of the Table aux Fées. At the next crossroads, turn left heading north.
(5) Back on the D57 facing the sandstone calvary, turn right, enter Verdrel, leave the path on the right, and take the path between the two roads on the left just behind the bus stop. Follow the road to a square.
(6) When you reach the roundabout-shaped square, opposite the Protestant church, take the second road on the right. At the crossroads with a transverse road, turn right and then left at the next crossroads. Leave the road on the right and continue to a Reformed church.
(7) At the Reformed church, turn right onto the yellow-marked path on the right between two houses and at the next crossroads, follow the left-hand path to a junction. Continue straight ahead.
(8) At the water tower, take the path on the left and follow it for about 700 metres until you reach the forest path.
(9) At the forest path, turn right, ignore the paths on the right and left, cross the D57E3 and continue north-west for about 1,500 metres.
(10) In the right-hand bend, at elevation 150, take the path on the left and follow theGR® south-southwest. Pass the first path on the left and take the next one on the right heading northwest.
(11) At the crossroads, turn left and climb 100 m to the road. Follow it to the left, then turn left again. Pass in front of the buildings of the Forêt d'Olhain leisure park, follow the road to the clearing and go around it on the right to the paragliding take-off point. Take a break to enjoy the view. Join the path near the forest via theGR®127and the Via Francigéna.
(12) At theGR®127trail, follow it into the forest, marked in white and red, for about 2,600 metres. You will go around the golf course. At the bottom ofthe GR®127at the junction with the D57E3, turn right and follow the road for about 350 metres.
(13) After the golf course car park, take the path on the right, then at the next Y-junction, follow the path on the left and, after 200 m, turn left again. Follow the road, turn left at the crossroads and you will return to your starting point (S/E).
Very pleasant hike with lovely views. Lots of laughter 🤣 due to the very slippery terrain and fun slopes. To be repeated in milder weather.
