Rully (Oise) walks

From the keep of Montépilloy, you can admire the entire Valois plain and the Massif des Trois Forêts.

A walk around and on Mont Pagnotte focusing on its points of interest, notably five ancient fountains and a dolmen. An opportunity to discover a wide variety of forest habitats too. Places to see: Fontaine Blanche, Le Rocher au Sanglier, the Chancy Dolmen, Fontaine du Pied Dufaux, Fontaine Saint-Barthélemy, Fontaine d’Yvillers and finally Fontaine Aubert.

Hike in a forest massif located on a hill and composed mainly of beech and oak trees. The southern and northern edges offer beautiful panoramic views of the Valois agricultural plateau and the Oise Valley.

This loop, starting from Villers-Saint-Frambourg, takes place in the Forêt d'Halatte. The paved forest roads follow the dirt tracks. We climb Mont Pagnotte via the south face. After a long descent, we go around the mountain to climb it again, but this time via the north face. The ascent is less difficult as it follows a beautiful path. After a long descent, we return to our starting point.

Twelfth stage of the Grand Tour of Île-de-France via the GR® 11, connecting the village of Borest to Crépy-en-Valois station, both in the Oise department. This long stage consists of crossing the Valois region to Crépy-en-Valois, mainly through agricultural plains and wooded areas.

Two very contrasting sections: first, the two rocky areas encountered in beautiful forests, at the Pierre du Coq, then the Pierre Glissoire. Two beautiful châteaux reached via cultivated fields: the Grande Ferme in Droizelles and Vertigny, an important historical site. Little elevation gain, very easy paths, even in wet weather. Option to shorten the route by almost 4 km.

Discover a curious sight: a slippery rock where, according to legend, women used to slide down bare-bottomed to find out if they would have a baby that year! Whatever the truth of this legend, you can enjoy the beautiful forest atmosphere, heather-covered plateaus and a small rocky chaos with the famous rock.

This hike allows you to discover the beautiful Halatte Forest with its oak and beech trees and to get close to some of its curiosities. They all bear witness to human presence and activity since the dawn of time. Along the route, on the heights of Mont Pagnotte, beautiful views await you.

A short walk to explore a diverse woodland environment and a few rocky outcrops, including the ‘Pierre au Coq’, a strange natural monolith reminiscent of a menhir with a rugged appearance.

Short walk in the Halatte National Forest from Fleurines via Mont Pagnotte and the hamlet of Saint Christophe. The former priory of Saint-Christophe is now the main feature of Fleurines' architectural heritage and is listed as a historic monument . The commune also boasts a rich natural and landscape heritage and is part of a natural area of ecological, faunistic and floristic interest (ZNIEFF). Since its creation in 2004, Fleurines has also been part of the Oise Pays de France Regional Nature Park.

This hike is long enough to showcase all aspects of the Halatte forest: tall beech and oak trees, coppice with oak trees and lime trees in the undergrowth, and large cultivated clearings, the largest of which is Fleurines. Most of the route follows the beautiful forest roads that were built several centuries ago.

Thirteenth stage of the Grand Tour of Île-de-France via the GR® 11, linking Crépy-en-Valois station in the Oise to Villers-Cotterêts station in the Aisne. It passes through the wooded areas separating these two towns and part of the Automne river valley, which it follows for several kilometres, on the border between the departments of Oise and Aisne.

Triple loop in the Bois du Roi through three villages near Crépy-en-Valois. This hike can be completed in its entirety, covering nearly 19 km, or divided into circuits of only 15 or 10 km.

A long and beautiful route, very varied, mainly through woodland but also with sections across fields, past remarkable sites (Ermenonville Castle, Chaalis Abbey), through beautiful oak groves, and through ‘Fontainebleau’-style landscapes with rocky outcrops and sandy sections. A hike intended for very experienced walkers. The terrain is, however, easy and there are many shortcuts available.

A hike in a forest in Picardy where the pines loom large. There are also beautiful sites covered in heather and sandstone blocks. The soil, often sandy, allows for hiking in winter without difficulty.

This hike is mainly in the forest, favouring trails in hilly terrain. The circuit passes through large pine forests with undergrowth of heather and ferns providing a beautiful variety of colours. The ground is often very sandy, making it easy to hike in winter.

Hike in the Pontarmé woods to discover the beech, hornbeam and oak forests, as well as the beginning of a sea of sand. After this hike, you can explore Senlis, a historic town.

From the Oise Valley to the Royal Abbey of Moncel, via the majestic Halatte Forest...

In the southern part of the Compiègne State Forest, a figure-of-eight walk with two very different circular loops. A first short loop takes you through the hamlet of Champlieu with the remains of its Romanesque chapel and allows you to visit a beautiful Gallo-Roman site (theatre, thermal baths, temple). The second, longer loop is mainly through woodland.

This hike allows you to discover the biodiversity of the western part of the Halatte National Forest, including the different species of coniferous and deciduous trees that make it up. The route winds through a hilly massif that offers some beautiful views.

Former capital of the Sylvanectes Gauls, Senlis was known as Augustomagus in the 1st century, during the reign of the Roman Emperor Claudius. From the 3rd century onwards, thanks to its walls, the Gallo-Roman enclosure of Senlis was one of the best-preserved in northern Gaul. The date of construction has still not been determined. What remains certain, as was already established in the 19th century, is that the fortifications were built after the passage of the Germanic hordes in 275–276, and after the year 278, withstanding the barbarian invasions and later the Norman raids. Senlis boasts a history spanning ten centuries of virtually uninterrupted royal presence. The town was the site of a Merovingian and later Carolingian castle or palace from the early Middle Ages onwards; although it has completely disappeared and there is no definitive archaeological evidence, it is mentioned in numerous ancient deeds and documents.

A fairly easy hike from Aumont-en-Halatte with a slight elevation gain, in the Halatte National Forest, skirting the village of Fleurines. Two beautiful viewpoints along the route, best enjoyed in summer when the weather is warm.

A short walk in the Ermenonville Forest, starting from the car park on Route du Boisdhyver, not far from Ver-sur-Launette. On very hot days, it is best to go in the morning; there is a picnic area at the end of the walk, or in Ver-sur-Launette there is a good restaurant on Place de la Mairie and a selection of shops. The church is open to the public

Located almost entirely in the Ermenonville National Forest, the hike follows theGR®1 trailto the Butte aux Gens d'Armes on the way there. On the way back, the route passes close to the "La Mer de Sable" amusement park and the Royal Abbey of Chaalis. At the end of the hike, you can explore Ermenonville.

A relaxing hike with very little elevation gain, starting from Ver-sur-Launette and heading to the Ermenonville State Forest,site of two councils or synods in the 8th and 9th centuries. The commune was called Vern in 846. Ver became Ver-sur-Launette on 15 January 1936.
