The hike starts at Place Paul Darras in the village of Villers-Saint-Frambourg (Oise) near the church
(D/). Take Rue de la Croix Dupille, which runs alongside the church, then turn left onto Rue Vieille de Pont and continue to the village exit.
(1) Let the street turn left and continue straight on Chemin des Vaches for about one kilometre.
(2) At the junction with a gravel forest track, turn right. A little further on, you will pass between forest plots 127 and 128. Walk to the Poteau d'Yvillers.
(3) Turn right onto Route d'Yvillers (signposted on the post).
Follow this road, which makes two wide bends, first to the left, then to the right, before arriving at a crossroads at the corner of plot 89.
(4) Cross the crossroads and continue along the gravel path running alongside plot 59, which descends into the valley to a tarmac road running alongside a riding centre.
(5) Turn left and, after about 100 metres, turn left onto the small road towards Senlis (see the route description for cyclists). Stay on this road until you reach the Poteau de la Croix Frapotel.
(6) Turn right onto Chemin de Crépy, which descends into a valley, and 400 metres further on, at the fork, take the path on the edge of the forest on the left. You will cross a cultivated area before arriving at a T-junction.
(7) Turn left and, after about 100 metres, continue straight ahead, passing by a wooden gate. Continue until you reach a crossroads with a large gate leading to a property enclosed by a stone wall.
(8) Turn left onto the sunken lane leading up towards the forest. Once in the forest, at the T-junction, turn right onto the lane that curves to the left and leads to a large cultivated clearing.
(9) Walk along the edge of the clearing on the left. You will pass the Maison Forestière des Falaises before entering the forest again. Continue straight on until you reach the Poteau Hétéroclite.
(10) Turn right towards the Carrefour de la Tête des Filles. At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead for about 800 metres to reach the Carrefour de la Tête de Filles, recognisable by the sign for plot 70 visible on a tree trunk (there is no signpost).
(11) Turn left at a 90° angle onto the path that leads into the copse and continue to the Poteau de la Croix du Grand Maître.
(12) Turn right onto Chemin du Moncel towards Villers-Saint-Frambourg. The path becomes sandy and climbs gently, winding for a kilometre until it reaches a crossroads. About 50 metres before this crossroads, on your left, you can see a rock on which an anonymous artist has carved a wild boar.
(13) Cross the crossroads and take the descending path opposite, markedGR® (red and white). After about 600 metres, cross the small tarmac road and continue straight ahead on the path that leads under the trees. Continue for another 200 metres to reach Chemin des Vaches at its junction with the forest track you took at the start of the walk.
(2) Continue straight ahead on Chemin des Vaches, then Rue Vieille de Pont, and turn right onto Rue de la Croix Dupille, which will take you back to Place Paul Darras (S/E).
sunglasses: A great hike in a beautiful forest. Just avoid doing it during hunting season because the route is not accessible then, but thanks to the map we were able to find a detour.
