From the A1 motorway southbound, take the Saint-Witz exit, then head for Plailly and Mortefontaine via the D126 and D922.
Mortefontaine cemetery car park, Rue des Vignes.
(S/E) From the car park, head right until you reach Rue de l’Église. Turn right. At the crossroads, take the path opposite towards the water tower and continue to a T-junction.
(1) Turn right and continue towards the forest. Enter and head down into the forest; ignore thefirst turn-off on the right. You will then reach a fence, which you follow on your left. This fence has blocked access to a nature trail since a fire in 2022. Reach the D607.
(2) Cross carefully (bend). Continue straight ahead (narrow path with blue markings). Walk past a riding school on your right and you’ll see a castle in the distance. Continue straight on to rejoin the D607 further on.
(3) Turn left onto this road. Take thefirst path on the right after crossing carefully (the Survilliers path to the hamlet of Neufmoulin). After crossing the woods, the path runs along the right-hand side of the Parc Astérix facilities heading south-west and joins the fire brigade access road.
(4) Turn left, then take the path on the left that runs alongside this access road. Reach the D118.
(5) Cross with care. Continue straight ahead through the fields heading south. At the crossroads, go straight on and reach the D922.
(6) Cross carefully. Continue straight ahead, skirting a wood on your left. Walk alongside, then enter a second wood and reach the D126.
(7) Cross with care. Take the Chemin Rural des Moulins straight ahead.
(8) In the woodland, take thefirst path on the left (just before the road). Ignore a turn-off to the right further on. The path then descends towards Plailly and joins the Route Transversale de la Libération.
(9) Turn left onto this road. Pass the road leading to the cemetery on your right and you will come to a Y-junction.
(10) Turn left onto Rue du Pont Mancay, then right onto the narrow street Messire Jean l'Effraye. At the end, continue left to reach Rue de Paris.
(11) First turn right then left and follow Rue Anatole Parent. Continue until you reach Rue du Prunelé.
(12) Continue left, then take the path on the right, heading north-east. Reach the multi-way junction at the entrance to Mortefontaine. Turn right onto Rue de l'Église then left onto Rue des Vignes to return to the starting point (S/E).
