Park in the car park located at 3 Rue du Couvent in Saint-Jean-aux-Bois.
(S/E) Take the arboretum path to soak up the scents of the forest, ignore thefirst path on the left and, at the fork, take the right-hand path. Continue to Rue du Couvent, turn left and walk past the old abbey church dating from 1152. Turn right to enter the church and walk around the abbey grounds, then retrace your steps. Continue along Rue du Couvent until you reach an old farm porch.
(1) Turn right onto the path leading to Rue des Abbesses. Pass to the right of the town hall and, further on, in the bend, follow a path that leads to the fortified gate of the abbey church and the Ru des Planchettes. Reach the porch leading to the small bridge and continue past the village bistro to the Tête Saint-Jean roundabout.
(2) Turn left onto the cycle path, then turn right into the forest and follow the signs to the Chêne de Saint-Jean. Cross two paths, pass the Chêne Saint-Jean and arrive at a fork.
(3) Turn right and return to the Route du Pont Palesne and the Carrefour du Boquet Colin. Then pass the following crossroads: de la Ruine, des Mares de Jaux, d'Adonis and reach the tarmac at the Carrefour de l'Oiseau. Carefully take the D332 to the left to quickly reach the hamlet of La Brévière on the right.
(4) Pass the castle on your left, turn left after the castle, continue to Carrefour d'Apollon and turn right towards Étang de Sainte-Perine. Pass the forest house on your right, follow the pond on your left until you reach a footbridge and turn left. Then continue to the end on the right and turn right to Carrefour des Amoureux.
(5) Turn left and continue to Carrefour de Bourbon.
(6) Turn right onto Route du Grand Octogone. Pass Carrefour du Longpont and continue to Carrefour des Princesses.
(7) Turn left and continue to Carrefour Callisto.
(8) Turn left and continue to Carrefour des Muses via Route de Diane.
GR®12.
(9) Turn left and continue to the D116. Turn right, then carefully cross the D332 and continue to the Route du Parquet.
(10) Take this road on the right and continue to the entrance to the town, passing a wash house on your right.
(1) Continue opposite, in the opposite direction, along the same route as on the way there to return to the car park (S/E).
