Description of the walk

Departure: Place du Tisart in Borest, after spending the night there or arranging a car shuttle.

(S) As soon as you leave the square, turn left onto Rue des Fours à Chaux, then turn right onto Rue de la Beauge.

(1) At the end (on the left, Queue de Gargantua menhir), first turn right then left onto Rue de l'Église.

(2) At the foot of the church, turn right and go down Rue de la Fontaine Saint-Martin.

(3) At the bottom, turn left onto Rue du Pont Saint-Martin and cross the river. Follow the road into the valley, passing the view of the Château de Fontaine-Chaalis in the neighbouring village.

(4) Follow the D126 to the left, cross the river and continue up to the next intersection.

(5) Turn right and pass the town hall and church of Fontaine-Chaalis. At a fork, keep right and cross the river again. Continue to a T-junction.

(6) First turn left then right to exit the village of Montlognon. Continue along the path until you reach the road and rejoin the GR®.

Red and white markings (GR®11)

(7) Turn sharply left and follow the road to the next crossroads.

(8) Turn right towards the cemetery and the water tower. At the foot of the water tower, turn left and follow a straight path that crosses the agricultural plateau for more than 2 km. Join the D100 near the village of Baron, visible on the left.

(9) Cross the road and continue on the path opposite. Head south-east along the main path and ignore any side paths. Pass under the high-voltage power lines and take the bridge over the high-speed train line.

(10) At the crossroads, take the second path on the right and, at the fork that appears immediately, turn left. Continue straight on to the D330a after the Château de Versigny park and near the village, whose church tower is visible on the left.

(11) Cross the road and continue on a smaller road opposite, through fields, then through a residential area.

(12) Take Rue du Cornolier on the right to continue in the same north-northeast direction until you reach a water tower.

(13) Then turn right (east). Pass under a power line and rejoin a road in front of some buildings.

(14) Follow this road to the left and pass under the power line again. At the next junction, turn right and pass under the power line one last time. Pass the Lessart farm and continue for 400 metres until you reach the next intersection.

(15) Turn right to enter the Bois de Droizelles. Follow a straight path uphill in an east-southeast direction. At the top of the hill, take the Pont Faron bridge over the railway line.

(16) Just on the other side, turn left and follow the railway line on your left as you descend. After about 500 metres, the path veers to the right and away from the railway line.

(17) Carefully cross the D136 and continue along the path opposite until you reach the edge of the woods.

(18) Turn left at a 90° angle to stay in the woods. Follow the well-marked path north-east in a straight line for 2 km, ignoring three other well-marked paths on the left.

(19) At the crossroads (with a smaller path continuing straight ahead), turn left and continue straight ahead until you reach the Poteau du Roi.

(20) Continue straight ahead on the path that descends and immediately turns right. Turn left at the next junction. Continue straight ahead (north) to the Voie Verte, which follows the right-of-way of an old railway line.

(21) Pass under the bridge, then turn right to follow the Voie Verte for a short while. Turn left after 100 m to leave it.

(22) Continue straight ahead (northeast then north-northeast), ignoring the paths on either side, until you reach a road at the entrance to Rouville.

(23) Follow the road to the left towards the centre of the village, passing in front of the cemetery. You will come to a T-junction.

(24) Turn right onto Rue Albert Callens. At the next two forks, turn right.

(25) Leave the village, passing to the left of a retention basin. Follow a straight path north-eastwards, climbing between fields.

(26) At the top of the hill, at a crossroads, turn left towards Crépy-en-Valois. Continue straight ahead (north) across the plateau. Descend into the woods, then arrive at a first roundabout in a residential area.

(27) Continue straight ahead on Rue des Braves.

(28) You will come out onto Rue Marie Rotsen; follow it to the left. Immediately go around the roundabout and continue straight ahead on Rue Marie Rotsen.

(29) At the next roundabout, take Avenue Levallois-Perret on the right to pass under the railway tracks. On the other side, turn right to quickly reach Crépy-en-Valois station (E).

Return: Crépy-en-Valoisstation , served by Transilien line K and Hauts-de-France TER trains.

Notes

(S) Departure from the village of Borest, after, for example, a night at the Maison Prieuré*, which offers lodge and bed and breakfast accommodation after completing the previous stage.

(E) Arrival at Crépy-en-Valois station, the terminus of the Transilien K line (with TER fares, as the station is located in the Oise department), also served by the Hauts-de-France TER. Please note that service is limited compared to other Transilien lines. For more information, visit transilien.com or the TER Hauts-de-France website. Express bus lines also depart from the station, notably to CDG Airport. For more information, visit the Oise bus website.

This is a fairly long stage (28 km), but it can be split in two at Nanteuil-le-Haudoin station, which can be reached from the point (14). Check the timetable for this station on the Transilien K line, which runs less frequently than Crépy-en-Valois, as TER trains do not stop there.

Hike completed on 3 November 2024 with the aim of covering the entire GR® 11.
