Short walk starting from the car park on Route du Boisdhyver

A short walk in the Ermenonville Forest, starting from the car park on Route du Boisdhyver, not far from Ver-sur-Launette. On very hot days, it is best to go in the morning; there is a picnic area at the end of the walk, or in Ver-sur-Launette there is a good restaurant on Place de la Mairie and a selection of shops. The church is open to the public

Response to User 24800375 Hello, I’m sorry to hear you had a problem on the walk. I did indeed map it out, but on the day I was due to go and check it out, I was unwell, so I’ve now corrected it. However, I will go on the walk myself to ensure the description is accurate, assuming the route is correct. Kind regards

At first glance, this is a superb hike through the heart of the forest, easily accessible with a car park at the start. The route can be easily downloaded onto a Garmin watch and is straightforward to follow. The paths are pleasant, with a slight incline, which makes the walk even more enjoyable.

However, we encountered a major problem. As we were unfamiliar with this forest, we had a very frustrating difficulty at point 6. The route seemed to lead straight into the forest, with no clearly identifiable path. After several attempts, we were unable to continue in the right direction.

Reluctantly, we had to turn back and retrace our steps. The section at point 6 would benefit from being revised or described in greater detail to avoid this problem for future walkers.
