Mosnac walks

Vineyards and more vineyards, the Charente, a bit of woodland – that’s a great mix for this magnificent walk.

Starting from the charming little village of Saint-Simeux, discover the plateau where vines grow in abundance, dotted with small hamlets, each one more charming than the last, with their large old stone buildings.

Also known as the "small heritage trail", you will discover this heritage through a short route on the heights but also on the banks of the Charente.

Discover the elegant town hall of Sireuil and its church, then enjoy the tranquillity of the banks of the Charente before heading up into the hills for an immersion in the heart of the Cognac vineyards.

The shepherds who lived here built the Church of Saint-Surin in the 9th century. After the Revolution, this church was attached to Châteauneuf. Climbing a little higher, you can see the diversity of the surrounding landscapes, then descend along the Charente.

A walk through the hills and valleys of Champmillon, returning along the River Charente.

This walk takes you along the Charente river before returning to the starting point through the vineyards. A very peaceful and pleasant route.

The landscape varies along this route, first along the Charente river, then through vineyards, and now we are in the forest.

Hike along the Charente river via the Îles de Fleurac. Please note that it is no longer possible to complete the circular route, as it is no longer possible to cross the footbridges to the Îles de Fleurac.

A short walk through the Birac countryside and its small hamlets.

The hike to the Meulières de Claix and Chaumes du Vignac sites is located south-west of Angoulême, 20 minutes by car via the RN 10. A protected site for its flora and fauna, it is a limestone plateau offering beautiful views of the Claix valley. The hike is beautiful and offers varied landscapes alternating between rocky areas (Meulières and Chaumes du Vignac), forests, vineyards, hamlets, historical monuments and cultivated plains.

A route that runs mostly through the vineyards, which are ubiquitous in the commune of Bouteville, situated in the prestigious Grande Champagne region of the Cognac region. Almost all the winegrowers in Bouteville are also ‘distillers’.

This walk starts in the centre of La Couronne; you will pass the Town Hall, then Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church, the renovation of which was completed in 2020. You will cross the courtyard and then the garden of Château de l’Oisellerie. After skirting the Bois de l’Oisellerie and crossing the Forêt des Moines, you will return to the town centre via the villages of Grand Maine and Les Barrets. This is a very beautiful hike with a few hills, and you will often see multicoloured hot air balloons decorating the sky and adding to the enjoyment of the hike.

This walk will introduce you to a rich architectural heritage, beautiful panoramic views of Angoulême, the vineyards, the islands and the shaded banks of the Charente.

Follow the Voie Verte, the former P'tit Rouillat railway line. Walk through vineyards, small woods and farmland before reaching the Nouère in the charming village of Gouthiers.

Set off on a route offering beautiful views of the rolling countryside of southern Charente, with colours that change with the seasons, ranging from the ochres to the whites of the chalky hills in winter, and from the green to the golden hues of the crops in fine weather.
