(S/E) Leave the car park at the town hall and post office and head towards the level crossing. Cross it and, at the next intersection, turn left onto the small road. After the small houses and before a huge new building, turn right onto a good path. This straight path will take you to a place called Chez Brisson.
(1) Continue straight ahead into the hamlet. At the end of the hamlet, turn right until you reach a small road. Turn left, then keep to the right. Cross the D10 and continue straight ahead towards the forest.
(2) Walk along the forest and a little further on, enter it. Stay on this wide, carriageable path for the entire duration of the forest crossing. There are some remains of old stone quarries on the sides of the path.
(3) At a large crossroads with four paths, turn right at a right angle. Leave the forest, walk along a small vineyard and, just after it, turn right onto a forest path. Follow this path downhill, ignoring the paths coming from the left and right.
(4) Exit the forest and continue straight ahead through the vineyards. When you reach a small road, turn right, cross the D10 and continue straight ahead on the small road, which narrows. At a T-junction, turn left onto a good path and follow it for one kilometre.
(5) At the T-junction, continue right towards a large property. In front of the gate, turn left and then follow it, turning right.
(6) At a small copse, leave the path and take another, less distinct path on the left between the vineyards, which leads to the small wood. Stay at the edge of the wood as you descend. Continue along this path, which will take you to La Natrie. Cross the hamlet in a straight line.
(7) When you reach a road at the old village school, turn right and then left. Cross over the railway line. In Les Aireaux, turn left, cross a small stream and enjoy the view of the church in Les Graves. At the next intersection, turn right to reach the banks of the Charente.
(8) Turn right along the Charente and follow this path on the left bank of the river.
(9) Pass by the Juac lock. Continue along the main path for a little while longer, then leave it and take a small path to stay as close as possible to the Charente. Pass under the road bridge and immediately turn right to go up the road. Take it to the left.
(10) At the junction of the road and a path, turn left onto this path and follow it straight ahead through the fields for about a kilometre. Turn right at a right angle to reach a poplar grove, walk along it, then cross over a small river.
(11) Continue straight ahead to go around the large building on your right. Take the first right, go to the end (white gravel) then turn right between the vineyards. After about a hundred metres, continue left along a grassy path.
(12) Walk along a small wood on the left, then, when you reach the houses, join the road and take it to the right until you reach the village of Saint-Amant de Graves. In the village, turn left, then keep left again to return to the car park where you started (S/E).
