(S/E) Go down Rue de l'Ecole, cross the small road and go behind the low wall before turning right, still going downhill. Follow the side of the road until you reach Champmillon church, keeping to the left. Follow the D7 downhill, turn right then left. Turn right onto the steeply sloping path. Continue straight ahead and cross the small bridge.
(1) Turn left towards the Écluse de la Liège. Pass by the pumping station. Reach the Charente and turn right to follow it on your left.
(2) Pass by the lock and continue along what must have been a towpath. The path gradually turns into a more or less wet trail. Cross two tree trunks that allow you to cross small streams flowing into the Charente, then two small stone bridges.
(3) After the second small bridge, you will reach a meadow with a large weeping willow. Continue along the Charente for a few more metres before turning right to reach the willow, which you should keep on your right. Take the road (D84) on the right for about 100 metres before turning onto a small path that climbs along a property on the left. When you reach Saint-Simeux, below the church, turn left into Rue des Remparts, then a little further on, turn right into Rue de l'Église.
(4) Turn left at the first intersection. Just before the village exit sign, opposite a farm, turn right onto a wide track. Pass a water tank. Take a short stretch of road on the left before leaving it for a wide track on the left.
(6) Cross the D72, continue for another 300 metres before turning right at a right angle, just before a vineyard, towards a small copse. The road crosses the copse before reaching a small intersection.
(6) Take the second left, Rue des Vignes, passing a street coming from the right. At the corner of a property, turn left, then 100m further on, turn right to go around it. When you reach a small intersection, take Impasse de la Combe opposite, which gradually turns into a path leading down to the bottom of the valley.
(7) Cross the road and follow the path opposite, which curves back up to the village. Cross the D7 road and continue along the small street that curves, then leave it for a grassy path on the left that goes uphill. When you reach the tarmac again, turn left then right. Go down to the right into Rue de l'École and return to the car park (S/E).
