(S/E) Start from the Bain des Dames playground and walk upstream along the Charente, keeping it on your left. Pass under the power line and continue for 200 metres.
(1) Turn right to leave the riverbank. Join the road (D423) and turn left. After 200 metres, turn right to pass under the railway line and reach a crossroads.
(2) Go straight up opposite to cross the Grand Gaudy, then continue straight up the grassy path until you reach an embankment not far from the road. Then turn left, go behind a house, and cross a small road to take the path opposite. Cross another small road to continue opposite and pass under the power lines.
(3) When you reach Le Pontreau ("Les Grandes Vignes" on the sign), turn right onto the road, then at the sign indicating "give way 150m", leave the road and take a path on the right. Go through the small woods, then cross the D669 road and continue on the path opposite. You will reach a small wood. After 5 metres along this, turn left onto a small path in the forest, follow it, leave the forest to find a vineyard, then take the path back into the forest and finally walk along a vineyard.
(4) Come out onto a carriage road, turn right, leave a path on the left, then at the T-junction turn right, follow this good path to a small road.
(5) At the small road just before the power lines, turn left for about 100 metres before leaving this road and taking a path between the vineyards on the left. Reach a wood and turn right to follow it. Cross the road to continue on a carriageway opposite, pass under the power lines, stay on the main path until you reach Petit Bois Durand. Turn left going downhill.
(6) At the first intersection, turn right onto the small road which, after one kilometre, will take you to a larger road (D699). Take care when crossing. Turn right, then immediately left and cross the railway line at the level crossing. Go around the gatekeeper's house, then follow the railway line along the carriageway. You will arrive at the Bain des Dames playground (S/E).
