The car park is situated on Avenue de la Gare, next to the health centre.
(S/E) Leave the car park and walk north along Rue de la Libération, keeping to the right-hand pavement. After 550 m, you will reach the Town Hall and then the Church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste.
(1) After 400 m, turn left onto Rue Léonard Jarraud and you’ll reach the wash house.
(2) Continue along Rue Léonard Jarraud for 140 m. On your right is the Abbey.
(3) Continue along the same street on the left-hand pavement, crossing the three consecutive roundabouts via the pedestrian crossings. At the third roundabout, cross the Route de Saint-Michel (D103) and follow it.
(4) Turn right onto Route de la Croisade, then take the path on the right and follow it to Allée de l’Oisellerie. Cross it and walk alongside the secondary school until you reach the entrance to the Château de l’Oisellerie.
(5) Cross the château courtyard, walk round the building to reach the garden.
(6) Walk through the garden, passing by the sundial, and leave via the wooden gate. Take the path on the right, then turn onto the path leading into the woods, passing between the secondary school’s buildings. After the last house, walk 150 metres and take the footpath on the right. At the next junction, turn right towards the pumping station. Walk around the Bois de l’Oisellerie, following the edge of the woodland until you reach the white track. In spring, you can spot primroses and orchids there.
(7) Follow the path to the electricity pylon. Turn onto the path on the right. In the village of Le Mas, take the first road on the right until you reach the Route de Saint-Michel. Turn right onto this road until you reach Rue des Tulipes.
(8) Follow this street, leaving the village via the white path. At the 67-mark, keep left onto the white path. At the next junction, continue along the white path to the right, running alongside the D215. Enter the Forêt des Moines until you reach the first path on the right.
(9) Turn left onto the marked path opposite the track coming from the village of La Forêt; follow it through the woods to the roundabout. Cross the D215 by going round the roundabout on the Nersac side. Take great care on this bend as visibility is poor. Walk past the water reservoir and follow the path through the woods to reach Chemin du Parc. Follow this path to the first street on the left, which leads to Route du Grand Maine.
(10) Follow it towards La Couronne, then turn right onto Rue du Grand Plantier. Follow the path to the entrance to the village of Les Courtes. At the village entrance, take the path on the left to the Nige Chat fountain.
(11) Continue along the path and head up through the housing estate, crossing it until you reach Route de La Mondone. Follow Route de La Mondone as far as the transformer. Take Route de la Charbonnière on the right as far as the rubbish bins.
(12) Take the path on the left which runs alongside the N10. To the left, on the site of the Pinotière landfill, there is a solar farm. Go under the N10 bridge and follow the path to the roundabout on Route de Bordeaux.
(13) Cross the roundabout, walk past the two blocks of flats, go across the car park and follow the path through the housing estate. Follow Rue George Sand to the bus stop on Avenue de l’Étang des Moines.
(14) Cross the avenue, pass between the blocks of flats whilst crossing the Place des Anciens Combattants. Follow Rue de Puybrandet; turn right onto Passage de Puybrandet and cross Rue Victor Hugo. Follow Rue du Champ de Foire; at the end, turn left and follow Avenue de la Gare to the car park (S/E).
