(S/E) From the small car park at the Gabariers pub-restaurant, walk along the Charente on your right and pass under the bridge. At a small car park (the port), head towards the village along the road. At the first intersection, turn left into a small cul-de-sac. When you reach the wash house, continue along the grassy path that curves upwards. Join a good access path to a house and continue straight ahead.
(1) Cross the small road and continue straight ahead on the tarmac road for a few hundred metres, before turning onto a good path. Pass an orientation table with a view of the Charente valley.
(2) When you reach an intersection, continue straight ahead for a few metres before taking the small path on the left, which descends quite steeply in a curve. At the junction with a road, continue downhill on the left. After about 100 metres, turn right through the gardens and pass a small wash house and then a fountain. Walk through the bamboo and come out onto a road. First turn right then left to take the small road that leads back to the banks of the Charente.
(3) At the banks of the Charente, turn left to go upstream, pass by the lock, then head to the Gabariers car park (S/E).
