This easy round trip could have continued towards Lake Chésery, or even Lake Vert, to form a circular route returning via Tovassière, but the rain and thunderstorm forced us to turn back. It remains a lovely walk along the banks of the stream, featuring several welcome shelters for a picnic in changeable weather.

As its name suggests, this summit offers a superb panorama, particularly of the nearby Dents du Midi. The proposed route offers a pleasant walk mainly through mountain pastures.

This is an easy hike with stunning views of the Dents du Midi and Mont Blanc in the background if the sky is clear. Halfway along the route, you will overlook the Swiss village of Morgins. The return to Super-Châtel is via the Buvette du Corbeau, then the Cheval Blanc area and finally Lac de la Mouille.

A lovely walk, made accessible by the cable car. Varied and interesting walking with a lake, a quiet path through trees and two great view points.

For lovers of breathtaking scenery, this is an outing not to be missed. The 360° panorama is worth the detour: Lake Geneva, Dents du Midi, Mont Blanc, etc. The first part, up to Portes de Culet, is not difficult. The second part, up to the summit, is more physically demanding.

An uphill hike taking you to the foot of the Eastern Peak (Cime de l'Est), eastern peninsular of "les Dents du Midi", with mind-blowing mountain view points and a panoramic view extending towards the Vaudois Alps. A challenging itinerary with a short aerial path through ridges.

During this fourth stage of the Tour des Dents du Midi, the route offers more magnificent views overlooking the Val-d'Illiez. At Signal de Soi, you can admire the Tête de Chalin, the Cime de l'Est, the cathedral and the Dent Jaune. At the Cabane d'Antème, wonderfully located at the foot of the Haute Cime, you can enjoy a sunset over the Dents du Midi and the Portes du Soleil.

A pleasant walk along the border ridge from the Morclan chair lift. Variations are possible (and described) to give more ascent. Opportunities for great views across the mountains in the Chatel Area and into Switzerland, including the Montreaux end of Lac Leman.

A pleasant walk beside the River Dranse from Chatel to Abondance, where it is possible to look around the Abbey. You can walk back the same way or there is a regular bus service in the valley. If you have a Chatel Multi-Pass the bus will be free.

A hike that leads to a lake at the foot of the Dents du Midi: the view of these imposing peaks is magnificent! The first part of the ascent is shaded, on a path that criss-crosses an alpine track. The rest of the hike takes place in the alpine pastures and ends in an increasingly rocky environment.

A beautiful hike to the Boudimes nature reserve, where you may spot chamois depending on the season, followed by a climb to the Mattes mountain pastures accompanied by the sound of bells and marmots whistling. Forests and mountain pastures follow one another to our great delight, with superb views of the mountains surrounding the villages of Châtel and La Chapelle-d'Abondance, then passing at the foot of Mont de Grange (2,432 m) and its rocky ridges. A very beautiful hike to do in dry weather. The paths are in good condition. If you go via the west, towards Lac de Soi, the climb is longer but less steep. There are no technical sections, but the entire hike takes place in a vertical environment. There is a small change in the route on the descent.

Hike starting from Croix du Culet, accessible by cable car. The signposting is particularly good at each intersection. Head towards Pas de Chavanette, then Lapisa, La Pierre, La Poya and climb up to the Col de Cou hut for a magnificent view. Then descend towards Croix d'Incrène via Arête de Berroi (truly magnificent, the most beautiful part of the route) and then towards the Barme refuge. Descend towards Champery. This is the least attractive part of the route, but there is no alternative to taking this road.

This stage partly follows the Tour des Dents du Midi, with a remarkable passage at the foot of the Sauflaz Gorges. As you climb back up towards Bonavau, you will switch to the Tour des Dents Blanches. The Barme Plateau is a magnificent place to contemplate these famous white teeth.

A short round-trip walk to the Queyset reservoir. Two tables are available around the reservoir for a picnic break. The short but steep climb through the forest should not be underestimated.

Between two ascents of the surrounding peaks, or when these are shrouded in clouds or under snow, a short, easy walk across the plain and along the boundary between vineyards and forest, exploring the rich heritage of the old village of Vionnaz.

This is a short tour which is useful to fill a couple of hours; perhaps when you want to stretch your legs on a short and steep ascent, or if you have spent most of the day hurtling downhill on a mountain bike and you want to do something different. The Pointe de Cheserey can be easily ascended and descended using the same path as an out and return.

The usual route to the Susanfe hut from Campéry starts in the forest before emerging onto the Bonavau mountain pasture. Below the imposing peak of the same name, the trail climbs up a path with a few equipped sections and crosses the Pas d'Encel. The final ascent of the Susanfe valley takes place in a high mountain setting.

The Haute Cime is the westernmost peak of the Dents du Midi massif and the highest point in the French-Swiss Pre-Alps. It is a unique vantage point, offering a breathtaking panorama and a climb in a beautiful high mountain setting This long and demanding hike can be completed in two days with an overnight stay in a mountain refuge.

This third stage of the GTA takes you from the Chablais massif to the Giffre massif. It is very long but offers superb views of Les Dents Blanches and Les Dents du Midi in Switzerland. From the Trébentaz Refuge, the GR®5 detour crosses the Mattes ridge and rejoins the main GR®5 route. It descends towards the Pron mountain pasture, then skirts the Coincon ridge towards Lenlevay, descending into a wetland area and climbing back up to the Col de Bassachaux. It runs along the southern flank of the Crête des Rochassons and passes the Col de Chésery (1992 m) to enter Switzerland. It passes the Refuge de Chéseay, Lac Vert and climbs to Portes de l'Hiver, then descends to Chaux-Palin and continues along the hillside to La Pierre. After a short climb to the Col de Coux, it crosses back into France to cross the Torrent de Chardonnière and join the Col de Golèse and its refuge.

This easy hike is ideal for a relaxing outing in the mountains. From the shaded path leading to Les Brochaux to the magnificent panoramic views from the Mossettes chairlift, the route alternates between cool forests and breathtaking views. As you descend towards Lac Vert, the majestic Dents du Midi mountains reveal themselves in all their splendour, inviting you to enjoy a sunny picnic by the water's edge. The rest of the walk is just as gentle, following a panoramic path facing the Roc d'Enfer, with the added bonus of peaceful cows dotting the alpine landscape. N.B. The distance and, above all, the elevation gain shown are overestimated as they include a chairlift ride. For walking, allow for around 8 km of horizontal distance, 100 m of elevation gain and 750 m of elevation loss.

A summit that doesn’t look like much from below but offers a superb panorama of the Chablais peaks, the Vaud Alps, the Valais Alps and Mont Blanc. A very varied circular route, alternating between forest, mountain pastures and ridges, tracks, paths and trails, with short steep climbs and gentle slopes.

An excellent family hike. You can go as far as the pass or stop at the lake, which is already a very beautiful setting. A pretty circular route overlooking the Abondance valley with views of the Dents du Midi. A limited elevation gain and a two-level route with no difficulty. The alpine walk proposed here is both interesting and scenic.

A long circular walk in the stunning setting of the Portes du Soleil, with no technical difficulty. Ascent to the Swiss high-altitude lakes: Lac Vert and Lac de Chesery. A scenic route along the Rochassons ridge and the Tête des Lindarets to the Col de Bassachaux, returning via theGR®5.

During this beautiful stage of the Tour des Dents du Midi, you will cross pastures and forests to reach Chindonne. As the stage is quite short, you will not miss climbing the Dent de Valerette, a magnificent viewpoint. You will then enjoy a panoramic view of the Dents du Midi and the Rhône valley.

A big day with spectacular scenery. The Pas d'Encel pass is a little tricky to navigate to reach the foot of Mont Ruan. Reach Haute Cime, the highest point of the Dents du Midi at 3,257 metres, via the Col de Susanfe, then descend to the Auberge de Salanfe on the edge of the lake.

A lovely circular hike in the Vallée d’Abondance offering stunning views of the area’s main peaks. A simple return trip to the Chalets de Pertuis makes for a lovely family hike.

After this detour on the Tour des Dents Blanches, you will rejoin the Tour des Dents du Midi and finish at the Auberge de Salanfe. Along the route, you will come across the Sauflaz, which you will overlook at the Pas d'Encel via a passage equipped with chains. In the Vallon de Susanfe, you can admire the Ruan massif. At the Col de Susanfe, you can contemplate the Haute Cime and the Dent Jaune. Further on, you will notice the Refuge des Dents du Midi.

A common route to the Cornettes de Bise when staying in the upper Abondance Valley. A long route with elevation gain, leading to a magnificent setting. A circular trail around Mont Chauffé with superb views of the north face of this summit (an impressive limestone wall), the Cornettes de Bise and the Dents du Midi. This final stage will take you back to Les Marécottes station, very close to the starting point in Salvan. The Salanfe glacier cirque is located at the crossroads of numerous hiking trails. You will finish your tour via the Col de la Golette, which is not very busy. The passage is quite narrow and the start of the descent is equipped with chains. At the pass, you can enjoy one last view of the Dents du Midi and Lake Salanfe. To the east, you can enjoy the panorama of the Valais Alps.

During this second stage, after the Col d'Emaney, you will be enchanted by the peaceful Alpage d'Emaney. During the ascent of the Col de Fenestral, you will be surprised by the beauty of the Lac de Blantsin. The Col de Fenestral offers a panoramic view of the entire eastern part of the Mont Blanc massif.

During this stage of the Tour des Dents du Midi, at the Col du Jorat you will enjoy a panoramic view to the south of the peaks on the border with Italy. You will probably recognise the Matterhorn. You will also have a bird's eye view of the Lac de Salanfe, with the Dôme de la Sallière in the background. To the north, the Rhône valley awaits you. In the small village of Mex, nestled on a plateau, several viewpoints offer views of the villages in the valley, all the way to Lake Geneva.

A long day leading to Lac d'Emosson via the Col d'Emaney and Col de Barberine. Descent to Lac d'Emosson, then Col de la Gueulaz and the final climb to the Cabane du Vieux Emosson.

Less frequented than the Haute Cime opposite, the Luisin is a superb viewpoint and a lovely hiking destination in a high mountain setting. This long and demanding hike undoubtedly offers the easiest route to this beautiful summit. N.B. The elevation gain shown is overestimated: allow for around 1,400 m.
