From Corte, only a well-preserved old mule track leads into the wild Tavignano Gorge. At the Passerelle di u Russulinu, you'll find pools in the torrent, guaranteed to cool you down in hot weather like this year (2017).
Corsica between the mountains and the sea

This hike is a variation (in terms of the route and starting point) of the Mare à Mare Nord. We set off from Corte, a very pretty town, and arrived at the Gulf of Porto.
We stopped at the Refuge de Sega, the Gite d'Albertacce, the Col de Vergio (where we stayed for two days to explore Lake Nino) and Evisa before arriving in Porto.

Beyond, Lavu Bellebone, a small glacial lake nestled in a mineral cirque, invites you to take a contemplative break. The rest of the climb is steeper, on rocky terrain where you may find yourself out of breath. At the summit, the 360° view takes in the gulfs, peaks and wild soul of Corsica, before you return to the valley.

The Ucelluline Waterfall or Bucatoggio Waterfall

When nature becomes a spectacle.
Secret yet welcoming, the Ucelluline waterfall (meaning "little bird" in Corsican) offers a striking setting that will leave a lasting impression. Between the villages of Santa Maria Poggio and San Nicolao, discover this wild and unspoilt site where fresh, clear water flows before your eyes and continues its journey to the sea. This walk is very popular during the day, but also at night, when its misty veil is fully illuminated and will fill you with wonder.
Pozzi via the Lacs de Rina from Ghisoni

This is a magnificent hike that has never been done before, as there is a section that is not listed. The trail starts halfway to the Ghisoni ski resort via a shortcut that leads onto the famous GR®20. This route offers a wide variety of landscapes and vegetation, including fir and beech forests, scrubland, rocky areas, lakes, rivers, animals, sheepfolds and the famous pozzi, which are magnificent in this location. These are pools of water in the green grass that form natural basins, connected by small river veins in the grass. The outward journey is via the Lacs de Rina, and the return via the GR®20. There are a few tough, steep sections, but all in all, it's not a very difficult hike, and well worth the effort.
Corsica Stage 3: Albertacce to Col de Vergio

This third stage takes us to the Col de Vergio, the highest point of the day, which marks the start of the descent to Porto.
We will pass by the beautiful Radule waterfall and its pools, which are perfect for swimming.

It alternates between wooded and open sections until you reach the summit at 1,000 metres, where a magnificent oak tree provides welcome shade for a picnic or a siesta.
The descent takes you through the charming hamlet of Costa.
Mare è Stagnu trail

Located north of Aléria, the Etang de Diane is renowned for its oyster and mussel production. It is surrounded by wetlands and marshes that constitute protected areas, thus hosting large populations of sedentary or migratory birds and sometimes endemic species.
Les Bergeries des Pozzi

The Pozzines (from the Corsican word i Pozzi, meaning wells) are acidic peat bogs crossed by winding streams.
They are located at altitudes between 1,700 and 2,300 metres.
They occupy depressions formed by ancient glacial lakes, which were filled in by clay deposits and numerous dead plants.
In Corsica, the deposits of the oldest pozzines are thought to date back around 12,000 years.
