Description of the walk

Take the shuttle bus from Corte to reach the trailhead in the Restonica Valley. (Regarding the shuttle bus: check with the Tourist Office for details).

This route can be split into two sections:
- From the Chjarasgiolu footbridge to the Tuani campsite
- From Tuani to the Riviseccu footbridge

(S) Take the path on the right as you leave the Chjarasgiolu footbridge. Continue until you reach a spot suitable for a swim.

(1) Carry on to the Tuani campsite.

(2) Walk through the campsite and reach Tuani.

(3) From here, you can return to Corte via the shuttle bus. Alternatively, continue to the left and take the path leading to the Riviseccu footbridge (1 hour 30 minutes’ walk). At the crossroads, turn left, then right, then left again until you reach a spot for a swim.

(4) Carry on until you reach the Riviseccu footbridge (E).

Notes

To return to the starting point and to Corte from the end point (4): Cross the bridge and follow the dirt track back up to the road where the shuttle bus stop is located.

Please note that this walk can also be done heading down the Restonica Valley:
The shuttle can drop you off either at the Tuani stop or the Riviseccu stop, allowing you to walk down towards the Ghjarasgiolu footbridge.

You’ll need to wear suitable footwear (trainers), bring water and perhaps a packed lunch.

Worth a visit

Restonica Gorges: don’t forget your swimming costume during the summer months.

A magnificent hike in the Restonica Valley. We did it backwards (downhill) to avoid too much elevation gain.
The only technical difficulty was crossing a torrent, which was in flood at that time of year (early May).

A beautiful hike... but be warned, it's quite difficult in hot weather... not necessarily suitable for children... a hike with splendid aerial views... but far from the swimming pools that you actually reach after the campsite... those who want to walk and swim should start from the campsite or stay around the starting point...

Beautiful hike along the river gorge. Frequent water sources to cool off. Completed in 1 hour and 40 minutes without breaks.
Return possible by road in 30 minutes without waiting for the shuttle.
The hike is still accessible by car from the starting point despite the landslide.
