The return route takes you over the Schlangenthal Pass, alongside the Falkensteinbach stream and past the Notre-Dame du Wasenberg Chapel.

Then explore the archaeological site of Croix Guillaume (habitats, necropolis and quarries).

A hilly route around the pretty village of Lutzelbourg, following the circular castle walk, the Marne-Rhine Canal and the Gustave Hentz Circular, featuring beautiful forest paths lined with rocks including Pulsfels Bellevue and the Krappenfels (Corbeau Rock).

Mont Sainte-Odile, a mecca of Alsatian culture, is surrounded by numerous historical sites and beautiful hiking trails. This circular route, starting from Hohenbourg Abbey at the top of Mont Sainte-Odile, follows the trails in the south-eastern part of the site and the trail that runs along the southern pagan wall, passing most of the points of interest in the area, all through the undergrowth.

A little-used circular path in the forest, taking in the rocks, rocky outcrops and viewpoints surrounding the hamlet of Grand Soldat.

Starting from the Loosthal forest house, begin this beautiful circular hike through undulating woodland, passing Hunebourg Castle, the Grotte d'Amour, the Rocher de la Guérite, the Gros Chêne, the Col de la Tête du Christ, the Pfannenfels rock formation and the Hammelsberg.

A lovely, undulating walk, mostly through woodland and brightened by the abundance of broom. Several points of interest mark this circular route: the botanical and ‘Poets’ trails showcase the forest, the high-perched Château de Lichtenberg offers a striking silhouette, whilst at the other end of the route the large sandstone boulders of the Scheibenberg remind us of the geology of the Northern Vosges. The GPX track will certainly be very useful.

I had wanted to hike in this mountain range for a long time, and now I've done it! There were signs prohibiting passage on a previous route, but I didn't really know where to find them, so I set off on an adventure and ended up finding an "authorised passage". So, under a bright sun, I was able to access these iconic red sandstone rocks and enjoy the exceptional 360° view from the Grand Rougimont viewpoint over the Donon and the Lorraine plateau. For those who appreciate the iconic natural curiosities of the Northern Vosges, don't hesitate to visit the Trois Pierres and Petit Rougimont: they are well worth the detour in a magnificent forest setting!

The Saverne State Forest has many unusual and mysterious places to offer, and this beautiful hike through the undergrowth is a fine example.Pass through the ruins of the Ochsenstein castles (the Grand, the Petit and Wachelheim), along the pretty Schlossberg ridge path to the Krappenfels Rock viewpoint. Further on, the Wuesterberg ridge path leads to the Mur Païen and the Pierre des Druides, the remains of an ancient Celtic place of worship.After these few bumps, it's easier going to reach the Schweizerberg plateau and the Neubaufels gazebo, finally arriving at the enormous fractured rock of the Seebfels. Please note: the summit of the Ochsenstein castles is now closed to the public.

A very pretty circular route around the village of Pierre-Percée. It will take you from the shores of the lake to the Château de Salm, passing through the rocky outcrops of Marie Fontaine, La Xaveure and the Sentier des Roches. You will come across a few remnants of the First World War not far from the Col de la Chapelotte and several viewpoints, including the Roche de la Soye, on a more winding and technical section, with a less rugged return via the Musée de La Ménelle and theGR® 533.

Keen to explore the archaeological sites around Lac de la Maix and its surroundings, we followed the trails marked by the Club Vosgien. On the way back after La Haute-Côte, we came across a few sections that reminded us a little of the legendary Roches or Hirschsteine trails between La Schlucht and the Hohneck; namely, very rocky paths featuring quite challenging sections interspersed with numerous springs. Best avoided during wet weather

As you walk along these superb paths lined with remarkable sandstone cliffs, you enter the mysterious land of the Dabo region, which has been marked by a strong Celtic presence. The remarkable sites of Ballerstein, the territory of Baldur, the Celtic god of light, Sickert and Dabo bring together a large number of geological curiosities, traversed by shady, bucolic paths and alternating with several magnificent panoramas.

A lovely, easy circular walk in the Petite Pierre National Reserve, following the Loosthal discovery trail and the paths of the Heidekoepfel, Muehlkopf and Geierfelsen, all the way to the Rocher du Bélier.If curiosity prompts you to take a look, you’ll discover a few interesting, little-known spots that catch the eye.

A very pretty walk in the magnificent Wormsa valley, with its succession of glacial moraine fields, small waterfalls and a succession of wooden footbridges. You reach the pretty little Lac du Fischboedle with its gazebo, then further up the Lac du Schiessrothried. This section has a few technical sections, but the reward is there for the effort. The return journey is easier and takes wide, shady forest paths.

A lovely, easy circular walk that takes you successively to the Roches de la Xaveure, the rugged shores of Lac de Pierre Percée and the Roche des Corbeaux with its beautiful viewpoint. The return journey follows part of the same route to Les Roches Bataillons, ending at the starting point at Les Trois Sapins.

An easy and very quiet hike, mostly through the woods. A few viewpoints over the surrounding forests and the sandstone rocks shaped by erosion: Roche des Druides, Roches du Corbet and Roches d'Achiffet.

The undulating paths you will follow on this lovely circular route, starting from the Billebaum car park, will take you to the heart of several Alemannic legends (La Spill, a 10-metre-high vertical monolith), to the Geissfels (a magnificent rock with a 40-metre drop and a remarkable view over Dabo), then, in the second stage, to the ruined Ochsenstein Castle (three 12th-century castles built on three sandstone spurs, with the summit area off-limits) and, continuing on from there, the long rocky plateau of the Schlossberg. Finally, the third stage takes in the Wuestenberg plateau, an ancient oppidum and Celtic place of worship (pagan wall, druid stone), the southern end of which begins with the Krappenfels, an enormous rock offering magnificent views, particularly of the Dabo rock.

A lovely, easy walk through the woodland. The first section is purely natural, peaceful and very quiet, whilst the second is rich in archaeological heritage in a land of legends.

This route, situated in the Northern Vosges, is a ‘Natura 2000’ site; its circular route includes a four-kilometre nature trail. It is ideal for those who enjoy easy (with little elevation gain) and peaceful walks through woodland. It offers some beautiful views, interesting cliffs and rocks, and ends at the terrace of the inn overlooking the circular Imsthal pond.
