Park in the small car park at the Anse de Pierre-Percée jetty.
(S/E) Walk up from the car park to reach the D182a and turn left onto the marked trail at the start of the bend.

Follow this narrow path which runs alongside the D182a departmental road on the left and disappears further on into the vegetation at the bend. Continue along the lake until you come to a small forest path on the right.

(1) This narrow forest path climbs towards the monument to the363rd Infantry Regiment. It crosses the D182a and then leads to the Route du Château at a calvary.
(2) Cross the Route du Château, climbing slightly to the left in the bend to take the narrow path on the right, hidden by vegetation, to the left of the memorial. Continue along this forest path lined with heather and ferns until you reach the viewpoint with benches: view of the village. Pass the square tower of Salm Castle opposite, then descend to the foot of the steps leading up to the castle: superb view of the lake and the square tower. Continue along the forest path until you reach a small grassy square at the edge of the D182, the starting point for several paths.

(3) Take the forest path marked "modified route Roches de Marie Fontaine". The path winds its way along this beautiful sandstone rock formation, featuring several remarkable rocks, including the Roches de Marie Fontaine (bench under a cave) and a chalice rock further on.

(4) At the end of the rocky ridge, turn left onto the unmarked trail. Note on the route: you will leave the marked Anneau Rouge trail that descends into the valley. Continue on this trail for about 100 metres to reach the RD182. Follow it for about 400 metres on the left along the well-stabilised grassy verge.

(5) After passing the metal safety barrier on the right-hand side of the road by about 100 metres, cross the D182 with caution and take the forest path on the right: the path starts well beyond the barrier. Follow the sign for "La Xaveure 15 min." along the forest path that descends towards a cove on the lake. You will reach the ruins of La Xaveure.

(6) At the crossroads, turn left onto the marked Grande Combe forest path. After about 200 m, take the wooden staircase on the right to continue on the forest path that climbs up to the forest road. Continue on the forest road to the left (marked Tour du lac - Grande Combe) for about 500 m.
(7) Follow the narrow path on the right, which starts with a few steps and then climbs towards the large rock face: follow the signs for "Roches de la Xaveure". The narrow path winds its way past numerous remarkable rocks such as the Roche du Chat, the Table and the Tabouret, the Roche du Guichet, etc. Go past the end of the Roches de la Xaveure to reach a crossroads and continue to the right, following the sign for "RD182 Vierge Clarisse". Cross the RD182 with caution and turn right, following the path that runs alongside the tarmac road to the Vierge Clarisse crossroads.

(8) Take the forest road on the left marked "sentier des roches - Grotte des Poilus Chapelotte": there is a statue of the Virgin Clarisse on a tree on the right. After about 400 m, turn right onto the "sentier des roches" towards the Grottes des Poilus, which you will reach after 1 km.

(9) Pass it on the right and take the path on the right. Continue along the "sentier des roches" (rock trail), pass the spectacular Rocher de l'Arche (Arch Rock) to reach the wide forest path (bench nearby) and the Rocher de Dame Galle (Lady Galle Rock).

(10) From the forest path, walk a few metres towards Ménelle (Yellow Cross) and turn left onto the narrow path leading up to the cavity of the electrical transformer station and then to the Pierre à Cheval observation post, remnants of the First World War: access to the cavity carved into the rock is via a metal staircase.

(11) From the metal staircase, take the right-hand side of the ascending path and continue to the Roches de la Vue: a viewpoint overlooking the lake and the village of Pierre-Percée.
(12) Return to the main path, take it to the right and, after about 100 metres, turn left to reach the Roche de la Pierre à Cheval: viewpoint. Return to the main path and continue left towards the Roche de la Soye, until you reach the intersection with a forest path.

(13) Keep going in the same direction on this wide forest track for about 500 m.
(14) At the bend, take the forest path on the left that descends towards Roche de la Soye. This narrow path, which is quite steep in places, winds between the rocks to reach Roche de la Soye, which offers a beautiful view of the village.
(15) Continue between the rocks on the narrow, steep winding path to reach the path marked "le musée 10 min" (museum 10 mins) towards the hamlet of Menelle.

(16) Turn right. The descent ends at the junction with the D182. Turn left towards the Menelle museum, using the side of the road, pass the Chararupt stream and enter the hamlet of Menelle.

(17) Pass in front of the Menelle Museum along the D182. At the fountain with a sandstone basin on the right-hand side of the road, turn right onto Chemin de la Menelle. This forest path climbs up to Croix Mangin and joins the gravel forest road that supports theGR® 533 (Green Rectangle).
(18) Continue right on the forest path (GR® 533), passing the place known as La Vierge Docteur (statue on a tree on the right). Then pass the first houses of the village of Pierre-Percée towards the centre.

(19) Turn left before the town hall square. Descend towards the Anse de Pierre-Percée car park via Chemin de Froide Fontaine, which joins the D182a in the bend. Return to the right for 50 metres and descend to the pier car park (S/E).
