Park in the car park at Château du Haut Barr.
(S/E) From Haut Barr Castle, continue along theGR®53, marked with Red Rectangles, on flat ground. Pass the telegraph tower, then take the forest path on the right leading up towards Grand Geroldseck.
(1) After visiting the ruins of Grand Geroldseck Castle, head back down from the promontory and take the path marked with a Red Saltire on the right.
Continue towards the Château du Petit Geroldseck (bench) and visit.
Return to the path, marked with the Red Saltire, to reach the "Table des Sorcières": a picnic area.
(2) Turn right towards the Brotsch Tower, marked onthe GR® 53 with a Red Rectangle, via the Brotsch Forest Road, then turn left, marked with a Red Ring, onto the forest path leading up to the Brotsch Tower. Climb the tower’s spiral staircase to admire the view, and make use of the picnic area and shelters.
(3) Turn onto the forest path, marked with a Red Rectangle crossed by a white line, located on the left after the shelter, and continue to Rocher Huck, a short path on the right (beautiful view).
(4) Retrace your steps and take the path on the right, marked by the same sign, descending towards the Brotsch Forest Road; cross it to reach the Petit Krappenfels Rock (panoramic view and bench).
(5) Return to the Route Forestière du Brotsch, on flat ground, marked with a Red Ring, then follow the Yellow Ring markings on the right, before the bend begins, to climb the path leading to the Rocher du Grand Krappenfels.
(6) Continue along the forest path, marked with a Red Ring, towards the Brotsch Rock and the Brotsch Cave. Pass close to the Source des Pionniers on the left and reach the Brotsch Rock viewpoint (beautiful view and bench).
(7) Descend from the rock, keeping to the right, along a steep path to reach the Grotte du Brotsch located below the rock (start of the climbing wall).
Continue downhill along the forest path and head towards “La cuve de Pierre” via the forest path, marked by a Red RectangleGR® 53.
(8) Continue along theGR® 53 to reach the Schaeferplatz Forest House.
(9) From the Schaeferplatz crossroads, head towards the Rocher du Hibou and the Hirschberg, marked by a Red Rectangle with a White Rectangle.
The forest path crosses the Lothringerbaechel Forest Road and climbs up the opposite side via a winding track to reach the monolithic Rocher du Hibou.
Go past it, reach a small crossroads and continue straight on towards the Hirschberg Rock. The forest path, marked with a Red Rectangle crossed by a white line, leads to the top of the large rock (beautiful view and a bench).
(10) Descend from the rock, then turn right at the small junction towards Lothringer Baechel and head down to the junction with the forest road of the same name, at a place called Lothringer Baechel.
(11) Take the forest path, marked with a Red RectangleGR® 53, to reach the Schaeferplatz junction
(9) From Schaeferplatz, head back up towards Château du Haut Barr via the forest path that runs alongside the Saverne to Billbaum forest road, marked with a Red Saltire, until you reach the Table des Sorcières crossroads.
(2) From there, head towards Château du Haut Barr, bypassing Château du Petit Geroldseck via the forest path on the left (alternative route on the right: Red Saltire).
Rejoin theGR® 53, marked with a Red Rectangle, and follow the forest path that runs below Château du Grand Geroldseck.
Continue along the wide forest path leading to the telegraph tower and reach Château du Haut Barr (S/E).
