From the D132 towards Lutzelbourg, head for the car park near the Ramsthal Pond.

(S/E) From the car park, head left along the lake until you reach the first fork.
(1) Continue straight ahead on the pleasant forest path on flat ground towards Fontaine Mélanie. Follow the stream of the same name and then join the forest road further on to reach a large crossroads. Turn left towards the nearby Fontaine Mélanie. Near the large crossroads is the small refuge of the Club Vosgien.
(2) Continue along the gently sloping path and join a forest track. Follow this for about 100 metres before turning right onto a narrow path.
(3) Cross the small wooden bridge over the stream and head towards Rocher du Breitkopf on the right. The uphill path winds through the undergrowth to the foot of this large rock. Access the Rocher du Breitkopf viewpoint via a sandstone staircase (bench and beautiful view).
(4) Then join the wide forest path nearby, which is slightly higher up. Continue until you reach the fork in the path on the right before the bend in the forest path.
(5) Follow the narrow path through the woods to reach the Hergott forest road junction and its cross.
(6) Head south-east, taking thesecond left onto the paved Hergott Forest Road, which passes in front of the Schweizerhof Forest House. Continue straight ahead to the barrier and head towards the Saint-Vit Cave (Schweizerhof picnic area).

(7) Continue along the stony forest road to the crossroads towards Grotte Saint-Vit and Rappenfels.

(8) Before the bend in the forest road leading to the Saint-Vit Cave, at the crossroads, take the forest path on the right, heading towards Rappenfels and Stambach via the GR®531 to the Rappenfels Rock.
(9) Enjoy the beautiful view from the belvedere over the Zorn Valley as you approach Lutzelbourg. Turn back to the previous crossroads.
(8) Markings: Blue ring
Turn right towards the Saint-Vit Cave and Greifenstein via a wide path until you reach a large grassy area, the Saint-Vit Cave site, which contains the remains of the old chapel on the plateau.
Visit the garden and the chapel cave. There is a picnic area and a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Haut Barr and Grand and Petit Geroldseck castles.
(10) Markings: Blue rectangle
Head towards the Greifenstein castles via the GR®531, a shaded path with a slight incline, until you reach the crossroads of several paths at the foot of the Greifenstein site. Note: access to the ruins of the Greifenstein castles (12th century) is now prohibited.
(11) Retrace your steps and, at the foot of the stairs on the right, take the path on the left that descends towards the Ramsthal valley. Shortly afterwards, leave the GR®531, which branches off to the right, and continue left for about 60 metres before turning right onto the path.

(12) Descend the path towards the Ruisseau de la Fontaine stream in the Vallon du Ramsthal. Cross a first forest road, then further on, the asphalt forest road that climbs to the Herrgott crossroads. Cross the asphalt forest road and take the steep path opposite that descends to the stream. Cross it via a small wooden bridge.
(1) Return to the car park via the forest path bordered on the right by the Ramsthal Pond (S/E).
