A long but easy route, taking around 8 hours at a normal pace (9 hours if visiting the villages).

A circular route starting from Étang-Vergy leading to Bévy, Collonges-lès-Bévy, then to Chevannes through the forests of Collonges, Chevannes and Arcenant, skirting Meuilley and Messanges, before reaching Curtil-Vergy. Along this walk through woods and vineyards, you’ll find remarkable trees, a megalithic site, a resurgent spring, the ruins of an abbey, not to mention wash houses, mills and restored old buildings.

A circular route starting from Recey-sur-Ource that passes through woods and fields, via Gurgy-le-Château, the outskirts of Petit Saint-Broing, and also the former Chartreuse de Lugny. A hike requiring a good sense of direction as well as keen observation when you need to follow, for short stretches, a route not marked on the IGN map and when you need to cross six fords at the best possible spot, depending on the water level at the time of year.

A circular route starting from Missery takes us from an 18th-century château to a 10th-century château in Mont-Saint-Jean (not forgetting its medieval town), passing by the archaeological site of La Grange du Mont (13th century), before a quick stop at La Croisette, or at least its cross, and ending in the charming village of Charny with a glimpse of the remains of its 13th-century castle.

A circular route starting from Anost, in the southern Morvan, which leads through forests of fir and other tree species to Notre-Dame de l’Aillant, the site of a Maquis Socrate camp, the Pierre du Pas de l’Âne, and the Tureau des Grands Bois, whilst enjoying the cool air in summer and pleasant views.

Make sure to set aside some time to wander around Flavigny and soak up its rich and varied cultural heritage.

A circular walk with no technical difficulties in the Tille valley, between Arcelot and Beire-le-Châtel, offering a lovely stroll through woods and fields, skirting the Tille on the return leg and passing buildings and monuments worth seeing or revisiting as you pass through the villages.

A walk starting from Orgeux, with no technical difficulty, which follows the pleasant Norges valley and leads to Saint-Julien. The return route takes you through woods and fields, away from the road.

A circular route with no technical difficulty starting from Quétigny, taking you to the outskirts of the residential areas of Saint-Apollinaire, Varois and Chaignot, Couternon, and Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur. A very pleasant route in fine weather when the path runs alongside the Vieille Tille and then the Norges between Couternon and Chevigny.

Circular route starting from the Col de l'Ullat, which leads along the ridge to the Pic du Néoulous with remarkable panoramic views on both sides of the Côte Vermeille, on the French side and on Spanish territory, not to mention the eastern Pyrenees. Return via an easy route. Definitely worth doing in good weather, but the wind can be strong on the ridge up to the summit.

A pleasant walk around the Villeneuve de la Raho lake with a semi-wild section where you can see a large number of birds.

An easy hike from Le Perthus offering views of the Spanish valley towards La Jonquera. Part of the route follows the border and takes you past military buildings from yesteryear (fort and redoubt) as well as the Roman site of Panissars, including the remains of the Via Domitia.

A circular loop starting from Cap Cerbère, climbing to follow the ridge line on the French-Spanish border, offering beautiful views on both sides, before dropping back down to Coll dels Belitres and the old border post, then descending to the Catalan village of Cerbère, and finally following the coast to return to the cape.

Visit the heart of Collioure through its picturesque narrow streets to the church and the pier, then stroll along the seafront around the Royal Castle before climbing up to Fort Saint-Elme. A hike starting from La Vallée des Tortues in Sorède, which passes through the suburbs of Sorède and leads to the Sant Ferriol de la Pave Chapel, then up to the heights of the Albères to the ruins of the Château d'Ultrera, before descending slightly to the old Himalaya solar oven and then on to the Hermitage of Notre-Dame du Château, where a break is a must. The return via the Pont de la Resclosa bridge takes you back to the valley and its wildlife park, which is well worth a visit.

A hike starting from the Port-Vendres pier, which leads along the coastal path to Cap Béar and then on to the listed site of Anse de Paulilles (Nobel factory). The return journey is inland, through the vineyards. A hike starting from Peyrefite Beach, which largely follows the rocky coastline, from cove to cove, to reach the town of Cerbère, then the eponymous cape and its solar-powered lighthouse, passing by the old customs post at Coll dels Belitres and the ridge marking the border between Spain and France. A pleasant, idyllic walk starting from Val Suzon, offering the chance to visit the archaeological site of Cestres – now abandoned dwellings – including the Puits Gaillard. It then takes us from one wash house to another between Cestres, Froideville and Les Bordes Bricard before heading back down theGR®®2to reach the Ru Blanc resurgence.

A very pleasant walk in good weather, following in the footsteps of the historic past of the Vergy hill, through existing buildings and the remains of ancient monuments.

A lush walk through fields and woods, starting from Bussy-La-Pesle, which winds its way through the outskirts of Blaisy-Bas and on to Drée, a pleasant village in fine weather with its stream and old houses built from stones from the former castle.

A challenging hike requiring good training and a high level of fitness to complete in a single day. An overnight stay at the Refuge des Cortalets is entirely possible. Plenty of attractions all along the way with ever-changing scenery (beautiful forests, mountain meadows, scree slopes, the summit of Canigou and the surrounding area, even in the distance). Best done in good weather to enjoy the beauty of nature.

A hike through woods and fields that starts at Lac des Settons and leads to Gouloux, where you can visit a clog factory (booking required) before discovering the delightful Saut de Gouloux and La Cure waterfalls further on. Take the opportunity to admire the view over this turbulent river. Return via villages and close to one of the Morvan peat bogs, at a place called Morégnon.
