Park at the picnic area on the D7, located approximately 4 kilometres after the junction from Val-Suzon Haut.
(S/E) Set off along the D7 for about ten metres towards Val-Suzon Haut, until you reach a stream (visible drainage channel). Immediately afterwards, turn left to join theGR®2. Climb through the woods. At the crossroads, you’ll emerge onto a wide stony path. Turn right onto it. This is an old railway line that runs above the D7; follow it to the right. There are ravines and masonry structures on either side. Much further on, it joins the D7. Turn left.
(1) Step onto the D7. TheGR®2follows this road. Take care when walking along this road, which is very busy on fine days. After a few hundred metres, turn right (GR® red and white markings) just before a fenced-off property with several chalets inside. Cross the stream by fording or via a small wooden bridge on the right. Immediately afterwards, turn left. When you reach a ruined house on the right-hand side of the path, stay on theGR®, on level ground. Head towards a T-junction of tracks, with the corner of a meadow visible on the left. Turn right, leaving theGR®2behind.
(2) Head up the Combe de Vaux de Roche on the right via a path that is wide at the start but narrows quickly. Ignore the side paths and stay at the bottom of the valley. The ground is stony, with water running along this path during heavy rain. Along the route, there are two iron cauldrons (used for charcoal production). When you reach a crossroads with a yellow sign: Sentier bouton d'Or, turn left.
(3) Leave the valley floor and climb steeply up through the scree towards the Cèlerons caves (worth a visit). Continue the climb to a crossroads of tracks. Turn right at the top, leaving the original path to head straight ahead into the woods.
(4) Follow the ridge line until you reach a rocky outcrop offering a fine view. Go back a few steps and turn right to rejoin the path, which descends and climbs several times (yellow markings). At the next junction, turn right. Then follow the blue and yellow markings, keeping to the left, and at the next junction, turn left up the gentle slope (yellow markings). After a few dozen metres, turn left (the yellow markings stop here) to take a lovely wooden path that leads directly to the Abîme du Creux Percé.
(5) You can walk around the chasm (wooden shelter and information on site).
Return to the crossroads by the abyss (signpost).
Head left towards Pasques / Panges, passing through a barrier preventing vehicles from accessing the site. Continue straight ahead along the track. You will arrive at the junction at Combe du Creux Percé.
(6) Turn left and follow the signs for Pasques / Panges along a wide track. This will take you to a crossroads at the entrance to Pasques, situated right next to the first house you see. On the right, there is a tennis court, a children’s play area and a water tap.
(7) Turn right towards Panges. The tarmac road turns into a stony track (yellow markings on trees and on the ground). Ignore the side paths and head straight on towards the woods. Follow the same route through the undergrowth until you reach a crossroads with a wide track running perpendicular to it. Ignore the yellow markings leading off to the left and continue straight on. At the next crossroads, you’ll come to a fork.
(8) Keep left to take the clearest, most well-defined path. This path leads to the Neuilly farm. It ends at the back of the property, at the wire fence (vehicle wrecks visible).
(9) Turn right. The path, running along the edge of a wood and a field, is once again marked with yellow; it is clear and well-maintained. At one point, it opens out onto a field and is less clearly marked. Continue along the edge of the wood for about a hundred metres until you find the trail again, which leads into the undergrowth. Shortly afterwards, you begin a long, steady descent. At the next junction, ignore the yellow markings pointing left and continue straight on, still descending steadily. You will eventually reach a perpendicular path, with a cleared section of woodland on the opposite slope opposite you.
(10) Turn right. Descend a grassy path at the bottom of the valley until you reach a large crossroads.
(11) Turn right onto a path that heads diagonally uphill. Follow it for a long, continuous stretch. It eventually overlooks the D7 (to the left) and passes two springs (one on the left, then one on the right). It runs halfway up the slope before finally descending and rejoining the D7 after crossing a bridge over the Suzon.
(12) Join the D7 and follow it to the left. Taking care, follow this road until you reach the car park, your starting point, after walking for about 600 metres (S/E).
