Fayl-Billot is a village of 1,300 inhabitants located in the Haute-Marne department. It is best known as the capital of basketry. There are many artisans practising this craft in the village. At the end of this walk, do not hesitate to take home a souvenir. This walk takes in the village’s main tourist and cultural attractions, such as the National School of Osier Cultivation and Basketry, Notre-Dame Church, as well as all the village’s wash houses and fountains.

Discover two ponds hidden within a large forest complex. Most of this hike takes place on well-maintained forest tracks. Only a few passages, secondary trails, may be overgrown with grass and young trees in spring and summer.

This route takes you around Lac de la Liez along a path in the heart of unspoilt countryside. The lake is very busy in season and is the perfect place to relax, either on the beach or by taking part in the various activities on offer (sailing, water skiing, tubing, etc.). But nature lovers can also enjoy themselves away from the area near the Liez Reservoir dam and Langres Plage.

Langres is one of the sub-prefectures of Haute-Marne. The town is unique in being completely surrounded by ramparts, making it the town with the longest fortified wall in Europe. This section takes you on a tour of Langres’ historic centre and along the 3-kilometre-long walkway of the medieval fortifications. The route through the town itself is equally charming, featuring a number of historic monuments, including Saint-Mammès Cathedral, and for those wishing to extend their visit to Langres, there is also the town museum to explore.

This route, initially designed to connect to the Culmont-Chalindrey railway junction, has been extended to Dijon due to the cancellation of the train service! It crosses the mustard fields of the Côte-d'Or and the former sand pits of La Tille, which have been converted into ponds that are more popular with fishermen than tourists.

Starting from the pretty village of Grandrupt-de-Bains with its beautiful old houses, this hike will take you to a place where the Resistance fighters lived and trained in August and September 1944, but above all a place of remembrance. You will also discover: petroglyph rocks, boundary stones bearing coats of arms, ponds, picnic and rest areas and views of the Vosges mountains. A few sections on the road allow us to pass through forests, meadows and farmland, as well as rural areas.

This marked pedestrian route (blue square) starts at the municipal campsite (car park, bar and restaurant open in the evening from May to October). You will pass through magnificent forests known for their high-quality oak trees. You may occasionally be surprised by deer crossing the path. This route takes in the splendid Arsondieux and Breuillots lakes, passes through veritable "cathedral" forests and goes near the Chapel of the Virgin of Bois Bani (a place of pilgrimage).

This route starts at the municipal campsite on Route de la Vierge. It will take you to the Chapel of Saint-Georges, built in the middle of the forest on the site of a deadly fratricidal battle. This route passes near the Arpero bar (a surprising log cabin between the canal and the Coney), the Carrières Volle quarries, the Tour des Lombards tower, the listed church, the castle ruins and the Embroidery Museum.

With a thousand years of history and remarkable architectural heritage (castles, wash houses, fountains, mills, etc.), Jasney also enjoys a preserved natural environment. You will walk to the charming village of Anjeux and its magnificent church built inthe 15th century. On the way back, you will pass by the Carrefour des Anges, where you can enjoy a superb view of the green landscapes of Jasney and the surrounding hills.

A small, discreet corner of the Vosges, but one full of beautiful discoveries. Among others, the sources of the Saône and Madon rivers. We recommend that you read the description beforehand to identify the specific points of interest on the route in advance.

Built on a hillside, Dampierre-lès-Conflans, a former enclave of the Duchy of Bar, is the starting point for this lovely walk through meadows and forests of hundred-year-old oak trees. It will guide you to the village of Jasney with its remarkable historical and architectural heritage and end with a magnificent panorama of the foothills and the Vosges mountains. At the end of the route, you can extend the itinerary to reach the superb Fontaine du Bois fountain.

Argillières is a small village steeped in legend... Its castle is said to have been home in the 18th century to the famous bandit Mandrin, a hero to the people but a thief whom the authorities were determined to bring down at any cost. Concealed by a high wall, this castle, built in the 17th and 18th centuries, is now mainly occupied during the summer months.

At the curious turquoise Planey spring, "witches" with supposed evil powers used to gather for their sabbaths.

The walk is mainly through woodland, but with a few passages through farmland or pastures to vary the landscape. It visits four pleasant villages with churches and refreshing fountains, as well as several picnic areas. It offers views of Lac de la Mouche and winds its way along the foot of cliffs, some of which are jagged, such as along the "ecological trail" (from (15) to (16)).If you find the walk a little long, you can shorten it to about 15 km by cutting from (8) to (17).

In a rural landscape where industry has nevertheless left its mark, let's follow the route of the jalopy, which stopped in each village to load goods.

This stage follows the southern part of the Eurovélo 19 "La Meuse à vélo" route (1,050 km from Langres to Rotterdam). From Neufchâteau, we follow the meandering Mouzon, a tributary of the Meuse. We then leave it behind, taking less travelled but more direct roads that avoid the meanders of the Meuse. We rejoin the EV19 just before the "Source de la Meuse" site, on the Langres plateau crossed by three watersheds. With the plateau reaching a height of 450 m, the gradients are not significant, but on arrival, you will need to make a little effort to climb the promontory on which the Citadel of Langres is perched. Your reward: a splendid view at dusk!

Rupt-sur-Saône is a small picturesque village in the Saône valley, at the foot of three hills, close to a salt road and a Roman road The nearby forest is home to the ghosts of the medieval loves of the Crusader Jean de Rupt, while the Saône offers the pleasures of fishing and boat trips.

Starting from Mirecourt, this loop is an enjoyable way to discover the heritage and countryside of the Vosges. The route passes through varied landscapes: village lanes, hedged paths, open fields and rivers crossed by charming wooden footbridges. Along the way, you will reach the village of Poussay and then Mazirot. Between nature and heritage, this accessible hike offers beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for a half-day outing.

A pleasant little hike in the hills above Montigny-lès-Vesoul. The route alternates between dirt tracks, gravel paths and a few tarmac sections. The trail crosses fields and small woods, offering pretty views of the surrounding villages. It passes close to Poncey and Chemilly, making for a peaceful and accessible walk. However, there is a slight inconvenience at the end of the route: the trail runs alongside a composting platform. Depending on the day, the wind and the temperature, unpleasant odours may disturb your walk for about 200 metres.
