Aiguille Rouge - Col des Thures - Chavillon and Bellety Lakes
A beautiful hike that takes you from a larch forest to a mineral world. We tackle the summit of the Aiguille Rouge with its splendid panorama, then the vast mountain pasture of the Col des Thures and Lake Chavillon, under the watchful eye of the three Wise Men of the Vallée Étroite. We extend the hike to Lake Bellety, which is less frequented but well worth the detour.
Le Grand Vallon from Le Mélezet
A lovely, isolated hike, far from the overcrowded trails. Requires a little attention to orientation and the location of the path.
Refuge de la Chardouse - Pamplinet
This is the first stage of a journey that will take you across France, following the 45th parallel as closely as possible (within 10 km). To truly cross France and avoid going back and forth, the starting point is in Italy. However, it is possible to start from Pamplinet and climb up to the Col de Désertes to start from the French-Italian border.
Chavillon and Bellety lakes
Visit two pretty lakes located on the link between the Névache Valley and the Vallée Etroite. The Lac de Chavillon is located at the Col des Thures, the crossing point between the two valleys mentioned above. The Lac Bellety above is on the border between the former provinces of Dauphiné and Savoie.
The Sentier des Sources snowshoe trail from the cable car
A lovely, easy walk in the peaceful forest, starting at the top of the gondola lift and returning by chairlift.
Circular via Les Marmottes and Le Pracara from the cable car
A short loop with good slopes, both uphill and downhill.
Pamplinet - Refuge du Chardonnet
This section corresponds to the second stage of the crossing of France, following the 45th parallel. This stage is magnificent and can be a hike in its own right. You follow the Clarée valley and discover beautiful waterfalls before climbing up to the Refuge du Chardonnet.
From Valfréjus to Modane via the GR®5
This is an easy, downhill hike from Valfréjus to Modane. The route follows the GR®5. It is a gentle slope, passing near the pretty Notre-Dame du Charmaix chapel, and there are many oratories in different styles along the way. Take the shuttle bus between Modane station and Valfréjus, but be sure to check the timetable.
Valfrejus - Lac des Méandes
A challenging hike starting from Valfréjus resort, the first stage to reach Lac des Méandes (below Col des Méandes). The view is incredible all along the route.Be careful, there is very little shade and at an altitude of 2,700 metres, it is always a little chilly.
Mont Thabor Refuge - Terre Rouge Refuge
The central stage of the tour, with the ascent of Mount Thabor, the highest point of the tour and offering exceptional panoramic views. This stage requires good mountain walking skills, particularly for the descent into the Terre Rouge valley.
Lac des Méandes - Mont Thabor - Valfréjus
The hike starts after the bivouac at Lac des Méandes (below Col des Méandes) to reach the summit of Mont Thabor and admire the 360° view of the mountains. Then return via the Refuge du Mont Thabor and descend to Valfréjus.
Valfrejus - Mont Thabor loop with bivouac
A challenging hike starting from Valfréjus Station. This circuit is a variation of the GR®5 or GR®57 to reach the summit of Mont Thabor and admire the 360° view of the mountains. We offer the hike with a bivouac at Lac des Méandes (below Col des Méandes) with a different return route from the outward journey, for a walking time of approximately 13 hours.The view is incredible all along the route. Please note that there is very little shade and at an altitude of 3,100 metres, it is always a little chilly.
From the Bramanette Refuge to the Ambin Refuge
A beautiful route, sometimes off the beaten track or on poorly marked paths. From the top of the passes, you can see both the peaks of the Vanoise (the Dent Parachée) and the Barre des Ecrins.This hike follows on from the "Le refuge de Bramanette" route.
La Clarée right bank: from Névache to the Laval car park
Between forest, mountain pastures and the banks of the Clarée, this walk takes you gently from Névache to the upper Clarée valley. It is also an opportunity to discover the hamlets and isolated chalets scattered throughout the valley. Don't forget to admire the pretty Fontcouverte waterfall on the way!
Please note that if you do this hike outside the shuttle bus operating period (information available from the tourist office), you will have to walk back to the starting point along the same route!
The Lake and the Porte de Cristol
A beautiful, not very difficult walk starting from Névache. It will take you from the larch forest to the very mineral landscape that forms the setting for this lake. The place is quiet and imbued with a great serenity, which is lacking in most of the lakes in the region, which are often very busy.
La Clarée with its banks and the Débaret waterfall
Discover La Clarée from the right and left banks.
A pleasant walk, sometimes a little difficult but so enjoyable in the cool air.
A route close to the river, with flowers and vegetation depending on the season.
And, of course, the beautiful and impressive Débaret waterfall.
You start by walking through part of an authentic village, with its weathered, exposed timber houses.
Then, get up close and personal with nature at its most charming.
The Refuge de Bramanette
This short hike is the starting point for a magnificent three-day trek between Haute Maurienne and Val de Suze (Italy), with beautiful lakes and numerous small glaciers.But the setting and the welcome at the Refuge de Bramanette are such that they alone justify spending the night there and descending back down to the valley the next day!

Lovely loop above Val-des-Prés providing a bird's eye view of the famous Clarée Valley.
Lac de la Partie - Vallon de Polset
A good hike with an uphill route along the Povaret torrent, away from the usual trails.
The uphill trail is well marked but there are hardly any signposts.
Lac de Savine - Col du Clapier
Route following the hypothetical passage of Hannibal and his elephants across the Alps. At the end of the wild and long valley lies the superb and large Lake Savine, at the foot of the Dents D'Ambin. A little further on, the Clapier border pass offers a magnificent view. On the way back, take a short detour to the Perrin Lakes.

A family hike starting from the Col du Granon, which allows you to discover a beautiful lake and, on the way back, magnificent views of the Ecrins.

The route is never technically difficult, but it is challenging due to the length of some stages, the altitude, and the orientation on certain passages where there are no trails.
Lac de Bissorte - Refuge du Mont Thabor
First beautiful stage of a challenging three-day tour of Mont Thabor. A beautiful stage with an elevation gain of almost 1,200 metres. Climb to the Bissorte dam, cross the Vallon des Marches, with a possible break at the refuge. Then climb to the beautiful Lac des Bataillères and the pass of the same name, with a superb view of the Lacs Sainte Marguerite and the Vallon de la Grande Montagne. Breathtaking view of the Cheval Blanc.
