Go up the road leading to Les Granges de la Vallée Étroite and park in the car park opposite the Militaires rock face.
(S/E) Cross the footbridge over the Ruisseau de la Vallée Étroite. Turn left along the bank of the stream. The path is poorly marked at the beginning but leads easily to the Tour des Rois Mages.
(1) Continue along this yellow-marked trail to easily reach the crossroads of the trail leading to Les Granges.
(2) Continue along the left bank of the stream, crossing a small tributary before reaching another junction.
(3) Here you have two choices:
- turn right to take a small rocky passage that is great fun for children (option shown on the map),
- or continue straight ahead to join the Lac Vert trail.
In both cases, continue to the right to reach the lake.
(4) Reach the northern point of the lake and begin a short climb through the woods with a passage through alpine pastures. Then continue to the right via a quick descent to reach the Pont de la Fonderie bridge.
(5) Cross the stream on the footbridge, then climb a few steps to reach the wideGR® 5 and 57 trail. Follow this wide trail to the left to reach the Granges de la Vallée Étroite.
(6) Stay on the track until you reach the barrier at the large car park, then cut across the fields to the left to reach the crossroads you passed on the way out.
(2) Retrace your steps to a footbridge, cross it and, via a path on the right bank parallel to the road, return to the car park where you started (S/E).
